I had to add this to my rain shower extension arm. It helped put the rain shower at the proper distance from the wall without damaging the look. The brushed nickel fit perfectly with my other brushed nickel extension arm. The extension came with gaskets for the extension arm to screw into and prevent leakage. It also comes with thread tape but I would not suggest using that. I started wrapping the thread with it and it just fell apart. I ended up using my own tape. Not a big deal.

the extension allows the shower head to be extended out further while showering. The threads seem slightly smaller which requires more of the white tape to stop it from leaking. Once the leak stopped, the function is great.

So, much to my surprise, the shower arm I have is only 4 inches! I had no idea that they came in different lengths and the plumber didn't ask me what length I wanted. I'm a short person and could barely reach up to the shower head and it basically, it sprayed straight down on my head! All I kept thinking was, if there were another 3 or so inches on that length, that would be so much better. I found this here and ordered one. I installed it the other day and it was so easy! A little teflon tape and ta da! No leaks and the shower arm and shower head are more my height! This piece is a very sturdy and heavy piece and matches the chrome shower arm. Highly recommend it if this is what you're looking for!
