This is my third mandoline, the MOST REASONABLY PRICED and totally the best. Sharp, easy to use and cuts potatoes paper thin!

This is so sharp and genuinely amazing. I ordered this after seeing the review on America's test kitchen.I've owned mandolins for many years, and this is by far the best one I have ever owned. Clean and ultra thin cuts, and the added blades for julienne worked perfectly.I don't know how it will do for longevity, but I was very impressed with my initial use of it.When I use a mandolin I use cut gloves rather than the included handguard.

I bought this along with some vitamins for my 23 year old grandson because he cooks a lot. He tried it and really likes. He learned his cooking skills from he's father my son years ago. My son said his son would be a fine cook someday.

Incredibly sharp blade, way sharper than my old one which makes slicing up vegetables much easier and quicker. I like that the company sells replacement blades so if this one ever gets as dull as my last one I can just replace that instead of having to buy a whole new one

I've used this brand in both professional kitchens and at home. Although more expensive than some alternative options, this mandoline lasts longer than the others and can take a serious beating without falling apart. We have some at the restaurant that have lasted years. Easy to adjust cutting thickness, additional blades are easy to install and the mandoline itself is easy to grip during use. Blade comes very sharp and remains very sharp even after months of use so don't try your luck.. use a rag to protect your fingers once you get down to the last bit of whatever you're slicing.

This is the only mandolin I have found that slices sweet potatoes. I slice them very thin to make sweet potato chips in the microwave. I have the OXO which works for many things and is easy to adjust and also the Börner that is made in Germany, also a very good mandolin. The last two could not handle a sweet potato. This is a very sharp mandolin so use with great caution, I feel it is much sharper than my other mandolins, I also like that the blades can be replaced when the blade gets dull.

The Benriner is my preferred mandolin. Makes quick work of prep work, keeping everything uniform for presentation. Extremely sharp, easy to swap out the various blades for preferred size. Easy to adjust thickness, and is perfect for getting paper thin cucumber slices.Highly preferred over other mandolins that are bulky and over engineered. The guard is helpful, just watch those fingers!

As someone who loves to cook and experiment with new recipes at home, this Japanese Mandolin has quickly become one of my favourite kitchen tools.I particularly enjoy using it to slice cabbage for coleslaw, as it produces consistently thin slices that make for a an amazing texture. The compact size of the slicer also makes it easy to store in my already-crowded kitchen drawers. What really stands out to me about the Benriner BN-1 is how sharp and precise the blades are. Even after many years of use, the slicer still slices through vegetables with ease, making food prep a breeze. And when it comes to cleaning, it's as simple as running it under water and wiping it down.Aside from vegetable prep, I've also used this slicer to make thinly sliced potatoes for homemade chips, which turned out perfectly every time.Overall, the this Mandolin Slicer is a versatile and reliable tool that has made my time in the kitchen more efficient and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality mandolin slicer that is easy to use and clean.Oh, and I almost forgot to mention about fermenting cabbage! As someone who enjoys making my own sauerkraut at home, this slicer has been a game-changer.The even and consistent slices that it can produces make it much easier to pack the cabbage tightly into a jar, which is essential for creating the right conditions for fermentation. And because the blades are so sharp, it takes far less effort to slice through the cabbage than it would with a knife, which is a real time-saver. Must-have tool for anyone looking to make their own sauerkraut, kimchi, or other fermented vegetables at home. Overall, I can't recommend this Mandolin Slicer enough. It's a compact, versatile, and high-quality tool that has made my time in the kitchen more enjoyable and efficient. From coleslaw to fermenting cabbage, this slicer does it all, and it's held up remarkably well over the years.

I love this thing. It’s small, easy to use. No big clunky attachments, just a few blade choices. Downsides, no rubber at the foot to keep it from slipping around and I was disappointed that carrots stained it right away. Potatoes cut easy peasy but carrots were also almost too hard, so I opted to just cut them by hand but had already stained the mandolin. I didn’t mind the smaller screws, though I tighten it the adjustment one and use a rubber band to keep the plank over the cutting edge when storing to prevent accidental cuts. People complain about the guard but after ruining the one on my pampered chef mandolin (my first one that wasn’t a box shredder) and thus learning to use one without the hand guard, I’ve just kept doing it that way.
