Was changing the brake pads and rotors on a 2011 Prius. The work on the front rotor is perfectly as you would expect you just put an old brake pad in between the end point of this tool so that it can push up against the cylinder. The rear brakes on the Prius are a little more complicated, but the tool still work to compress, and then you have to turn and screw in the piston of the brake. But it even helped to do that. I was impressed for the price. It worked quite simply just remember to use an old brake pad in the middle so that applies the pressure evenly.

Nothing much to say here other than that it gets the job done. Quality is fine for what it is. If you're looking for a basic disc compression tool that works, this is it.

It is very good but I know from experience that if a caliper piston is difficult to compress with this thing then it means that caliper will likely be sticking later.and i have stripped the plastic knob from the screw before so if you have to pull out a dual pistonspreader out and gotta use a lever with some real strength then yeah... That caliper will lock up like this silly 1996 Ford bronco autohub I worked on... Well, it immediately began sticking and pulling to the left. The car that actually stripped on of these type of of screw brake piston retractorthingies was a Toyota Camry. Dude was broke, needs front pads and rotors cause the were grinding etc and didn't want at least that single brake caliper if he couldn't replace both front calipers... It didn't lock up but who knows. That one probably did begin to stick later on. Otherwise this particular brake piston screw type thingamajig serves me well. Only used it on easy working newer production vehicles with less than 5 years in em although.

The right tool for the right job makes a huge difference. This tool works well and after using it three times with zero issue, I feel it was a great value. It is definitely easier than using a c-clamp.

For years I had been using a generic large C-Clamp for compressing the caliper pistons. While this does work, it is rather ungainly to deal with. Decided to try this product as an inexpensive alternative.Price was right and this tool works very well. Doesn’t take up much space and is quick to use. I recommend it for those DIYers who prefer to do their own brake jobs.
