Working on a large white oak project, two 12 foot long 1 1/2 foor dia logs, hooked up to my 5 1/2" industrial hitachi grinder and they kick butt, after a few hours of use you need to take a nail clean them but in general they work great for clean up and removing the softer outer layers of white oak. Slows down when you hit the harder inner layers but I have craving chainsaws for that.

I have used them to carve in both soft and hard wood. They work great for either. Control is good when used with a (Bosch) angle grinder at full speed. Very little kickback. Material removal is quick, but with a little bit of practice it was easy to find the right pressure and angle to have good control over what is taken off and what stays. I have only used them three times thus far, but do not perceive any decrease in removal speed, i.e., it appears they are made from good steel with good edge holding.

First use safety gear and be mindful of the other reviews with injuries, a definite real possibility. This does seem to work well and remove a good amount of wood. I am using a ryobi grinder 18 volt battery. I would say this wheel needs more powerful grinder it is not the easiest to get on because the teeth are near the hole, so use gloves. It did hold up to my use, but once again I am using a lighter weight grinder. One star off, I wish they had listed a recommended grinder power.

I was a bit skeptical at first when considering purchasing this item buutttttI can't express how impressed I am with this wood carving wheel for my grinder @ this price point. It has taken my woodworking projects to a whole new level!The first thing that struck me was the build quality. I had no concerns about safety or durability from the moment I started using it.The carving wheel itself is a game-changer. It effortlessly removes wood material, allowing for precise shaping and detailing. It's incredibly versatile, from roughing out a design to adding intricate finishing touches. The control I have over my carving projects now is amazing. Just be absolutely sure of your body positioning when using this on a grinder... the kickback can be aggressive so be sure to wear proper personal protective equipment, face shield & kevlar lined gloves or cut resistant gloves are a must!!Would buy again forsure.

Works great and eats through wood. Used it on a tree stump I was shaping into a chair after rough shaping with a chain saw. But be careful. Make sure you have the side handle fitted to the angle grinder and wear heavy duty protective gloves.

This thing absolutely eats through wood like nobody’s business but it will only last for 2 or 3 heavy uses which is ok for the price. The terrible part of this grinding dish is it tightens down to the grinder during use that it’s a pain in the a** to get off. First time I used it it took an hour of cussing and throwing things to get it off.
