Although it's plastic, it's a great unit. I like it because it's larger than most portable fans. I also like it because you can plug it in the wall, add batteries and charge it with USB cable. I plan on buying some recharageable batteries so i can use them over and over. It's easy to pick up and go because it folds up. Also, you can set it at many different angles, which is wonderful. It's so portable and easy to grab and go if you're going to the beach, working in the yard, going on a picnic or camping. My grandson used it when he spent a week with us and ran it all the time in his room. This is a great unit and has a lot of options.

This fan I took to a festival and it worked for 8 days on the same batteries. I had it on during the day to cool off and it ran all night as I slept. It can also plug into a wall to use as a regular fan. There are 2 settings, low and high. It's superb at what it's meant for. The plastic is very light because it's travel friendly. It will click into place at several angles. It's best for a 10'x10' space or smaller. you won't feel the air any further than that. Now that I no longer camp, it's 6 years later and I take it with me around the house. It saves on energy bills to cool me off in one room, rather than run the entire house's A/C. Some days there just is no airflow otherwise. This is delicate. You cannot drop it onto the ground or it will crack. There is a singular wire in the back, and you can easily disconnect it if you are just manhandling it. act as though it is a phone without a case on, and it will be a great tool for you. This is NOT for big rooms or large gatherings. This is a multifunctional camping fan, best for a tent or a small room like an office.I've used this for 6 years and it's still going. Almost none of my other electronics last that long. If the power ever goes out, this fan will be very handy on battery.

Update 21Jun23 -- incredible machine, still going strong all seasons. Battery tip, since Amazon jacked their's so high in price, tried Dollarama's Panasonics, equal to the task and significantly cheaper.Update 14May22 D Size Adapter -- decided to return the adapters (noted below). Only got average four-to-six hours out of the AAs with adapters -- not worth the light weight and hassle changing so often. Get minimum 20 hours with Amazon gold D batteries, gone back to them.Update 25Apr22 -- Holy smokes, still going strong and definitely the best investment ever. Works fabulously with both AC and D Batteries. Recently bought a D Size Adapter that takes one AA battery and it also works great and is just a bit lighter-weight, although don't last as long as Amazon Basics gold D cells but alternative when you run out. (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B076Q6SQM4/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A3P4UZIS42PRQV&psc=1). Now heading into warm weather and after working great through winter to help circulating heat it's now keeping me cool again. BTW, did buy a skinny paint brush to reach through grill to remove gunk from blades. After "brushing", tip and tap on the ground to dispose the gunk.Update 11Mar21 -- This is one of the best purchases I have ever made! It's still working VERY well with both AC and batteries in both cold (circulating heat from my camper van propane Mr. Heater) and hot weather to keep me cool. I can't imagine not having it.I have, however, found one thing that frustrates: it's solid one-piece plastic housing cannot be opened to clean the blades which are very, very dusty after more than two years of pretty much constant use. I've taken to using a 2-inch hair-rather-than-synthetic paint brush to try to clear the outer housing rings as much as possible. Might next try a skinny artist's brush to reach through the rings to the blades.Update 03Jul20 -- amazing device! Working really well still with both AC and batteries. Used all winter to help move the heat around from my propane Mr. Heater, and now the weather is getting hot and humid again so am using it to keep cool. Again, this size is so much better than a 5 or 6 inch fan in a camper. Really, it's absolutely worth the cost.Update 22Oct19 -- still working fantastically! Using it now to help heat flow around the space. One of my best purchases!Original Review 2018With both power and battery capacity, this is a really good fan. With batteries installed, when you plug in power supply it auto-switches to AC and doesn't run down the batteries. Am using in a camper van, and when I have power it's "FANtastic", and when on batteries it still has very good power. So glad I got this instead of a 5 or 6 inch battery-operated fan; the large 10 inch size gives much more air circulation. The batteries work for around 5-6 days on low running it for 4-6 hours per day. I've found turning off for a couple of hours seems to restore the batteries so they run strong again for at least a half hour before slowing down again. Another thing I noticed is that when I do use on AC power, that also seems to restore the batteries and they run again really well -- don't understand that, but it's a bonus for me.

Great for camping, especially if you're near your vehicle. Probably too much to carry with you for a hike; I use this to keep my tent warm when camping at festivals. It's great. Bring it out of the tent during hot days and it helps cool off day and night. If you do have a long hike, I'd recommend a model that uses a different type of battery (such as lithium ion) or is smaller in size.If you are going to be away from power for more than 2 days, would recommend bringing spare batteries. However, I've heard it can last up to three or four days on continuous use. For nighttime-only usage (about 7-8 hours per night), I've lasted 4-5 days with no issue. Honestly, I feel like the battery life is pretty good, though lugging around batteries can add a bit of weight to it.The batteries aren't rechargeable -- you power it with D cell batteries. It's fairly convenient, as D cells are fairly common and you can run out and buy replacements quickly. You can purchase rechargeable D cell batteries if you don't like battery waste, too.Noise level is acceptable. It has a moderate amount of white noise, but it's not annoying or too loud. Definitely quieter than most fans of the same size; and it's a pleasant hum when you're falling asleep. It tilts up and down easily, but no left/right. There's no swivel or oscillating features that indoor fans have - it's not needed here.Overall, just a solid purchase for hot temperatures that need to cool down a bit. For me, this is perfect for hot tents (such as when you're trying to sleep a couple extra hours during the day-time, when a tent can get notorious warm). Does the trick, and now I won't go camping without it (unless it's a hike, then not worth the size/weight).

This is one of the best portable fans I have had. It simply is amazing and meets its puprpose and is a wonderful traveling fan. The best part is I orderd and got it shipped from US with in week inspite me being in Cochin where normal couriers take ages.I wanted this to be taken with me on my tour to Europe where we are doing quite a bit of home stays in the country side where most homes don't have A/C or fan and in recent years European summers have become hot (temp in Spain was 39 degrees) and i have had bad experiences in the past as well, hence we decided to take a fan. Straight away knew the cheap Chinese fans (already having extremely poor reviews on amazon) would not be enough. After a long search finally found the O2-Cool series of fans. Not only it proved to be extremely useful it was also super light weight and did not add on to our overall weight limit in a bad way.Special mention of the company Ganapathy Global who sold it cheaper then many other sellers but also promptly responded to my email request for delivery within a week as I needed it for my travel and it came ahead of the time they promised. Please note: This product is for travel or to be used in close proximity and recommend using a light weight extension cable than buying the heavy and expensive rechargeable battery's (unless you are camping).

Original post: We used this on a three-night camp trip into southern Iowa in August. It made all the difference for getting a good night's sleep. It created enough of a breeze on the low setting to give relief without blowing too hard. On the low setting there wasn't quite enough white noise to cover campground sounds or animals treading about but the high setting did a good job of covering noise. The batteries gave enough weight in the base for it to remain upright all night. We like that it folds up to a very portable size and doesn't take up much room among the camp gear.Update one year and three months after purchase: We returned the original purchase as it was defective and got a replacement without any issues. Very reliable fan. Ended up using it in the bedroom for white noise on the low setting. Folded up, it propped easily into the window. The high setting brought in enough evening air to cool the room for night sleeping and the low setting is perfect white noise. It has run for eight hours a night for 15 months. Other fans we've had tended to develop vibration noises after several months, very annoying and not conducive to falling asleep. Not this one. It sounds and performs the same as the day it came out of the box. The only caveat I have to add is that the covering on the cord separated near the fan body's plug-in point, exposing the little wires within AC adapter cord. It came as a result of the cord bending downward at the connector every night to plug into an outlet below the window. It's beyond repair and needs replacement. We tried a couple of power adapter cords from several electronic devices we have but none worked. I see that a replacement AC adapter cord is available from the manufacturer for $12, about half the price of the unit itself. Based on the performance of the fan, we figure it's worth it. The old cord will go to electronic recyclers. As a precaution, so the same thing doesn't happen again on the new cord, we'll probably wrap some electrician's tape around the first couple of inches at the connection to support and ease the bend in the cord. Overall, it's been a good little fan and worth the purchase.
