Excellent for CNC - HDPE up to 1/2" with .125" passes, or .0625" for UHMWPE if you're looking for slick and smooth cut surfaces. Spec .25" ER20 collet fits it just fine. Feed rate is definitely lower than 1/4" o-flute but precision is good. No runout on the shaft or taper.

I'm primarily using this O flute bit for milling HDPE, MDF and wood and it works well. The bit feels to be of good quality as the cutting edge is very sharp and the bit has a nice smooth surface finish. I'm relatively new to CNC and I mostly rely on my software to automatically set my feeds and speeds and I haven't encountered any issues using this in my trim router mounted to my CNC machine.I find that this bit works quite well for evacuating chips quickly especially while working with plastic, although I suppose a drawback is that it doesn't leave clean top edges on materials such as wood since this is an up cut bit with a single deep flute. Overall this is a decent O flute bit and I haven't noticed any wear or dulling and the included case is nice for keeping the bit protected in storage.

This upcut bit is perfect for the Maslow CNC router. The chips are expelled upwards, and not plugging up the cut/trace lines. It has held it's sharpness well so far (few hundreds of linear feet of cutting 3/4 ply).I haven't seen the issues of some upcut bits of damaging the top surface of the material. These seem to cut very cleanly. I am using them in a deWalt router, at typical speeds.

The first thing that I noticed about this router bit was the very different style of the bit’s flutes. They are not your traditionally shaped, up cut spiral flutes and I wondered if they would perform as well as the normal ones do. I’m glad to say that I was not disappointed. The router bit cuts cleanly and removes material easily with no smoking or excessive heating of the bit. The flutes did a great job of clearing the router bit’s kerf and keeping the pathway clean to avoid burning. The edges of the cuts were clean and crisp and the router bit seemed to cut easily and effortlessly. One thing I might want to bring up is that because this is a ¼” diameter router bit, I would suggest taking multiple, light passes if you require a deeper cut to avoid snapping the thinner, ¼” diameter shank of the bit. The small case that is provided, holds the router bit securely and does a great job of protecting it from damage while in storage. All in all, this is a fantastic little bit that does a great job whether you are cutting a thin dado, or a fence guided rabbet. Just a great bit at a great price.

Unlike the 1/8" version of this bit which performed very poorly, this 1/4" bit is a beast. The first time I chucked it up, I felt my hand was wet, looked down and I was bleeding from my hand. Turned out, I had just grazed it with the side of this bit and sliced it open, VERY sharp. Did a great job cutting 1/8" anodized aluminum like butter. 1st time cutting on aluminum with my CNC, I would be hard pressed to use another bit based on my results.

I bought it to see if it’s possible to mill a slot in Aluminum with this kind of carbide bit. Needless to say it works perfectly! This opens up a whole new set of opportunities in my shop.

I didn't have high expectations for this bit when I got it, but I was so impressed with the clean cuts it created that I ordered another to have as a backup. I even accidentally ran it through one of my aluminum hold downs and it continued carving the wood with clean edges!
