It took a while for this pot to arrive, but boy, was it worth the wait!Right away, you can tell this is solid. It's not some cheap, wimpy, thin, non-coated aluminum pot out of which you may get a couple of years of use if you're lucky--it's build to last. The pot and lid handles feel securely attached. Of course, these do tend to loosen with use--it's just the way of things. There are Phillips screws on all three so it's a simple fix if that should happen. The lid attaches to the rim of the pot in two places to hold it securely while draining your pasta or moving some broth or vegetable water (like potato water for gravy) to another pot, pan, or bowl. Although the lid does attach to the pan and the handles are not supposed to get hot, common sense dictates to use potholders. Accidents can happen under the best of circumstances or preparedness--it's why they're called accidents--and it's best to be safe than end up with second- or third-degree burns from hot water or from the pan or lid. It's nice and deep so it's perfect for boiling a whole chicken (old family recipe for chicken soup and chicken salad) or even a pot roast with potatoes and carrots. I've also used it to make a family-sized pot of mac and cheese, chicken Alfredo, beef stew, and chili. The possibilities are endless! Following instructions, I "seasoned" it (without the heat bit) by rubbing it with oil after the first cleaning and before the first use. I've had no issues at all with food sticking and it's a breeze to clean.I think that for the price point, this is one heck of a deal for its versatility alone. When you add its durability and ease of cleaning, you really can't afford to miss out on it. With proper care and cleaning, this should last for years.

My wife and I love making noodles, whether its for spaghetti, udon, or ramen. We wanted something that can make a decent amount and have the ability to pour the water out without having to pour out the noodles. I had gotten a smaller version for vegetables and my wife fell in love with it. so she wanted me to get her a bigger one. I got this one just for that purpose and she loves it as well. Gone are the days of pour out your noodles wondering if the strainer you pour them into is big enough or if they are going to pour over the sides.Ease of Use: The lid and top of the pot have sections that you line up and then twist the lid to semi lock the lid on with.Build Quality: It feels pretty decent but maybe a little on the thin side.Ease of cleaning: It is hand wash only so no putting into the dishwasher.Durability: As long as you use rubber utensils it should last a long time.Value for money: Current price is $39.99 which seems to be a little more then what others are selling the same size pot for. So it might be a little on the expensive side but only by a little.Functionality: It functions just as advertised. The only thing I wish it did was lock the lid into place so that it doesn't slide around when trying to pour, which might be just slightly and not very much.

We often make pasta and made do with our 3-quart pot (which was really just not big enough to do the job well). This five-quart aluminim pot has a non-stick lining. It heats quickly on our gas stove, simmes nicely, and has wood-look bakelite handles which don't heat up on the stove. It also has a top which nestles into place with two slots where you can rotate and lock the lid in place. It has built-in draining holes which work so much easier than trying to dump the pasta into a collander with steam pouring up into your face and fogging up your glasses. When you are done, you are ready to plate the pasta directly from the pot. It comes with a pasta fork as well. Be sure to use plastic or wooden utensils as the manufacturer warns metal will scratch the nonstick surface. The pot cleaned up like a dream after sitting for several hours after dinner while we visited with our dinner guests.I am very happy with this acquisition, It will make pasta nights much easier to manage. It also cooks the pasta much more evenly than when it is crammed into our 3 quart pot. Highly recommend!

This 5 qt dutch oven style pot very easy on the eyes. The handles look great though I'm not positive they are made of wood, still they pass the eye test. I've some concern for how these handles are connected. You can see its likely metal into the handle. Maybe some glue? Its in a square pattern. Just one. I have a fear one pops off and I've hot water everywhere. Possibly an injury. My other large pots have always had the handle connected directly to the pot. Even cheap ones where the handle did eventually break off; I could see it happening before picking it up. However these handles are on... im not sure. The lid is nice. Has an overbite to lock onto the pot to prevent spills & so the strainer works well. So far it does, but I do have a little movement on the knob for the lid. Twisting on the knob has some give. Likely striped some around a screw fed in from the bottom. Which isnt uncommon, just shouldnt move without the lid.You can not place this in your dishwasher. Hand wash only. You need to wipe the inside down with oil before using to create the non stick surface. I did this once & its been fine. No sticking of any noodle. Usually put a tablespoon of oil in with any noodle anyway. Looked at this almost like seasoning a pan.Over all it is a beautiful piece that is a smaller than a typical dutch oven. It comes with a couple possible dangers though. Time will tell and I'll revisit if I begin to trust the pot more.
