This offers a much more convenient way of cooking pasta. It frees up one burner on the range, and takes up much less room in the dishwasher. Microwaves are often over-the-range, so one has to be careful when taking the vessel down from eye level. It easily accommodates three or four portions.

Making all kinds of pasta. It takes about the same time as what I used before, but is a nice update. The lid means you don't need to wash a separate colander because the water is easy to strain. The portion measuring card is helpful to know how much water to use with how much pasta.

Helpful little gadget and way easier than whipping out a heavy pan and wasting tons of water in a bigger pot unnecessarily. The only con I found is that the noodles do sometimes stick together a bit but I've started coating the dry noodles with a smidgen of olive oil first (NOT a lot) before nuking them in the microwave, and that seems to do the trick and they still cook up just fine and dandy. I usually use oil in a boiling pot to keep the starchy froth from boiling over on a stove too, so it's still the same number of steps but it's just easier and lighter on my aging hands to use this little thing instead of a heavier pot with lots more water that has more potential for me to spill lol. Great little gadget overall.

Works great with regular spaghetti but not with other types or shapes.

I was really hoping for this microwave pasta cooker to work as well as boiling the pasta, it is just not as good for cooking the pasta.I cooked one serving of spaghetti in the cooker. According to the instructions one serving should be cooked for 8 to 10 minutes in a 900 watt microwave oven. My microwave is 1500 watts and I first went for 9 minutes. The resulting spaghetti was under cooked and as you can see in the photo the spaghetti was not completely limp like thoroughly cooked spaghetti should be.The next day I cooked another serving of spaghetti but this time went 10 minutes and the results were the same. At this point I decided that making pasta the tried and true method of boiling it is the way to go for me.Mixed feelings about this product. It is convenient but I don't think I saved time in either cooking or washing.

This is my second one to add to the rv for fast pasta. Cheaper than big blue box. Soap and water clean up.
