Beat the heck out of the bucket method! I also have been using it on hard to reach house plants. keeps me from spilling water using the water pail method. Works good.

This is a great device to help with watering the Christmas tree. The length allows it to be used with tall and shorter trees (say 6’ to 12’) and it is easily tucked deep into the tree for hiding. The funnel is red so it blends with decorations and the hose is very flexible and can be wrapped around the trunk for hiding.

This has tubing long enough to snake down the trunk of your tree with a funnel on the end to make watering a live tree super easy. Just make sure that you don't put in too much water, though, so it doesn't overflow your tree stand. To straighten out the tubing, I found it useful to heat it up with a hairdryer and lay it flat. That made it much easier to put it in place with our tree.
