How the Evaporator Coils Do Their Job :

Evaporator coils are a part of your air conditioner. They are usually made from aluminum and look like a series of pipes weaving back and forth inside the indoor cabinet of your AC. The refrigerant circulating through the air conditioner passes over these metal pipes. When the air conditioner operates in cooling mode, the refrigerant moves.

The warmer air running over the coils from the blower fan causes the refrigerant to evaporate, which draws heat into it. This makes the air around the coils cool while the refrigerant warms up. The refrigerant returns to the outdoor condenser coils, where it is pressurized and heated up to start the process of heat exchange all over again.

Evaporator Coil Troubles:

To do their job efficiently, evaporator coils must remain clean. Grime or corrosion will make it harder for the coils to absorb heat. This not only means air that isn’t as cool as expected, it can also cause the refrigerant in the coil to stay so cold that ice starts to develop along it.

Save your time, money and frustration. This thing doesn’t work very well at all. It’s small and way overpriced for what it is. It is a dog brush, literally a dog grooming, brush, repackaged, and marked up.

My ac has not been cleaned in a while, so there was a lot of build up, but this coil cleaning brush worked magic. The size was perfect and the bristles stiffness was great.

It's sturdy, simple to use, and well-designed. I've used this a few times now and I love it. The only thing I would change is having a longer handle because it's hard to get deep inside the HVAC coils if you have big fat hands like me. Still, overall a fantastic product that can save your HVAC system from dying early!
