Sometimes a dome comes off my hearing aids. Works great for getting them out of my ear.

I'm using this in an unconventional way. I wear hearing aids and when I have to change the filter I have to remove the dome that goes into my ear (it's connected to the receiver and the filter is under the dome).Should be easy to do unless you have a permanent hand injury that doesn't allow you to get a good grip on small items like the hearing aid receiver.I've tried using regular needle nose pliers to hold the receiver but I couldn't find any that were small enough and I was always concerned that I'd squeeze too hard and crush the receiver (not good!).These work very well. They are small enough to grasp the receiver while I pry the dome off using my good hand. They are also easy to control the pressure that I put on the ends.Nicely made and certainly made life just a tiny bit easier for this old guy.

I ordered this forceps because my husband has hearing aides and occasionally, when he removes his hearing aides, the ear piece separates from the microphone that rests behind his ear. It is very difficult to get the ear piece out of the ear canal and has resulted in trips to the doctor. The doctor uses one of these forceps to retrieve the ear piece. Because I am an RN, I feel that with with this forceps, I can do the job myself. The quality of the forceps is excellent.

I work as an ER doctor and decided to buy myself a pair of these as I frequently can't find them easily at work. German - I figured they would be good quality, similar to the equipment that we have at work, but I was wrong. Strangely, the whole horizontal part (the neck) moves down in order to open up the jaws. The mechanism isn't right. That means that you would have to raise the entire forceps as you open the jaws in order to stay in the same place (the Barbie shoe in the toddler's nose). No, they don't function correctly for my needs.
