I will say that they do mention only 3-5 uses from the crucibles right in the listing so maybe I'm expecting too much as far as quality goes. Both crucibles are pretty nice on the interior, one is pretty good on the outside. Both are pretty rough on the rim (one is especially bad) and one isn't the best on the outside side either. My furnace developed a crack right before I got these so I haven't gotten a chance to smelt with them yet. With the way the one rim looks already I can't imagine it getting better after heating it up. The tongs are usable but like the crucibles they aren't the best quality. The handles are probably the best part, they are straight, feel sturdy, and have nice grips. I used them at a friends shop with his furnace (didn't want to chance these crucibles cracking in his) and they worked ok. The pouring tongs is a little tight but I'm not sure if it's the bolt of how they're bent. My friend said it looked like I made them myself and it wasn't a compliment. Like I said in the description this set is usable but for how many uses I don't know. I was pretty disappointed in the quality. When the listing has mostly CGI I usually avoid it because you don't really know what you'll be getting so I guess part of the blame lies with me.

Great product. This set is fantastic and the company did a great job of packaging everything together. I highly recommend these for home use as they hold the crucible more securely and prevent drops and spills.

I'm an amateur caster, this set is great for my home set up. The crucible is working great, and the tongs are definitely nice to have. So far the crucible is holding up and seems well constructed. The tongs are good for occasional use (I'm just happy to have purpose-made smelting tongs) but I'm not sure if they would pass muster for someone who does a lot of smelting. The handles screw on to the clamp part, which is fine as long as you make sure the screws stay tight. But the welding looks a little lacking (see attached picture) -- I mean they're making a tool to hold a container of liquid metal, they should go ahead a run a full welding bead all along that joint!

This tool increases the safety and precision of my work, and the handheld design provides excellent control for stable, accurate pours without the risk of spills or accidents.
