This attached seamlessly and securely to my Nikon d7100. Adds heft and stability to the camera, it really helps taking pictures in vertical format placing a shutter button at the top. Comes with a tray to hold regular camera battery and another tray for AA batteries. The Nikon OEM battery grip is better quality but it costs a small fortune. Try this first!

I bought this for some event photo shoots and it works great. I don't need it all the time but is nice to have when I do. I did not want to spend the money for the Nikon version for that reason. The build quality is very good and works as expected. All of the buttons works as they should including the multi-selector button. Overall it is exactly what I needed and because I will not be using it all the time it should last a long time. Very secure and sturdy when attached to my D7200. If you need something for everyday use I would invest in the Nikon grip but otherwise this is solid and much less expensive alternative. I have other items from Neewer and I have always been please with the quality and value of their products.

I’ve had the grip for several days now and am super happy so far. For the price I am extraordinarily pleased. I didn’t get my Nikon batteries yet so I was only able to test it with AA’s so far and it has changed how I take pictures. The D7200 works well in assigning battery order and I haven’t had any glitches so far (as seen in certain reviews).I, like a few others actually prefer the positive half-step auto-focus/shutter release feel of the grip more than the mushy feel of the D7200 shutter release. The front part of the grip in the past has been plagued by incomplete adhesion to the plastic underbody giving it an inflated feeling, mine does not suffer from this issue thankfully because I likely would have OCD issues with this!!The joystick control is fantastic for navigating however I prefer and have adjusted my settings to nagivate with the scroll wheels in all aspects. One minor gripe is that I have mostly smaller, but still heavy glass, and there is a little play on the mount that I could see as a problem when I acquire my 70-200 f2.8 VR - this will be a two-hand operation for sure as I would hesitate to place full trust of an $800 body and $1800 lens in the full care of a $29 grip!!!Texture and look are similar to the Nikon body making it look uniform, and not wholly aftermarket.

Initial impression is that of a good value. For 30 dollars it pretty much is exactly what I expected. Mounted on my D7200 it fits pretty well with a slight gap. The plastic, wheels and buttons all feel low grade compared to the Nikon body. However, they all function. They joystick on mine is angled a little off but usable. I would never compare this to the Nikon grip, it doesn't hold a candle to it. However, this is 30 dollars and for that price it is a win. It gives me an extra battery, a usable vertical grip and the option of AA battery for backup. Great value just don't expect the same build as a Nikon product which demands a price tag near 8 times this.

Perfect fit on Nikon D7100. Comes with 2 different battery holders, one is for AA batteries & the other for EN-EL15 battery. The scroll wheels don't feel tight like ones on camera but they do work. It works as designed, cant beat the price.

I bought this grip with skepticism as some reviews did indicate that some functions didn't work. Thanks to Amazon's return policy, I figured I was pretty safe in purchasing.I have a brand spanking new D7200, fresh out of the box, with the April 2016 1.01 Firmware from Nikon installed.Everything that I have used so far on this grip functions as it was designed, including the shutter release (incl. the half vs. full press), lock lever (to turn the grip off), lock buttons, multi-directional selector, primary and sub-command dials. I have not yet assigned functions to the spare Fn button on the grip, but at this time, I do not anticipate any issues. The EN-EL15 battery and 6-AA battery packs both function well and report back their data to the camera. I do not see a clear distinction between this Neewer grip and the roughly 6x more expensive Nikon branded grip.If I were to nitpick, the lock lever, dials, and multi selector do not "feel" quite like their counterparts on the camera. The levers and dials don't seem like they're quite as good of build quality on the grip compared with the camera. The multi-selector seems fine, it's just different. If the lock levers or dials failed to survive from repeated use, I could buy this grip 5 more times before meeting the cost of the Nikon version, so it's a worthwhile risk. Other than those, this doesn't really "feel" cheap. Note: I can't compare these to the actual Nikon version. Only to the camera.Ultimately, I like having the extra power of a second battery. Rotating to a portrait shot feels more natural with a second shutter release and focus selection available to me without adjusting my hand too much.My use case: Personally, I keep an EN-EL15 battery in the grip, a spare EN-EL15 ready, and a set of AA batteries in the other battery pack unit. My camera prioritizes the battery in the grip. Since the grip has to come completely off in order to get to the battery in the camera itself, that's the one I want to use last. So, when I've shot through the EN-EL15 in the grip, I swap to a spare. After shooting through that, swap to a set of AA batteries while EN-EL15's charge up. Using this rotation, I can shoot all day as long as I have access to charge a pair of EN-EL15's at the same time. I only shoot AA until I have a full EN-El15 ready to go.
