The fit is exceptionally tight, ensuring it remains securely in place without any movement. It feels solid and is curved perfectly to keep the thumb comfortably positioned. This design dramatically enhances the handling of the Nikon Zf, all without adding weight or compromising its aesthetics. While the grip is still an option, I personally find it unnecessary now.

Full frame cameras with a fair sized zoom lens can be a little harder to work with, this added metal thumb grip does a great job of making this a bit easier and feels solid when using one hand. I found this very helpful when I travel and holding the camera for an extended amount of time.

Nice material, feels solid without too much weight. Works great at giving my thumb a place to apply positive pressure to stabilize my hold on the camera (I use it in combination with the Small Rig grip for the other four fingers). If you have large fingers, it might get in the way the AE-L/AF-L button and the switch to go from Photo to Video (I think your fingers would have to be really big (not long) for it to be a problem).

As many of you know, one the the biggest issues of the Nikon ZF is the ergonomics of the camera. While I get it, it's meant to be a callback to the vintage F/FM series of Nikon Cameras, it's nonetheless bigger with heavier lenses. Given that the system typically wants you to shoot AF, there's less of a tendency to support the camera via the lens, and instead support it with the same hand operating the camera body. I've tried at least 3 different L bracket grips, and one other thumb rest (with a flat thumb platform) and this L bracket with the curve has to have had the most impact to the ergonomics of the camera. The fit isn't as snug on the copy I have, but it otherwise works and doesn't slide out.

This along with a grip for for the Nikon Zf are the missing links. Makes the ZF with a zoom lens so easy to handle. Must have. Got one for the Z fc as well.
