The 3-way valve in my Navien NCB-240 was clicking about every 6 seconds non-stop. I didn't have any error codes or any other problems with space heating or domestic hot water. If you are handy, it's not difficult to change this valve. There are several videos on YouTube. Unscrew the plastic valve body from the threaded brass flange, leaving the flange in place screwed to the cabinet. Be sure to clean all the o-rings and gaskets and their mating surfaces and apply a thin coating of silicone plumber's grease when you put everything back together. This valve does not come with new o-rings, although it does come with a new gasket between the valve and the brass flange. It would be wise to order new o-rings & gaskets for all the parts that you'll be removing for this job. Be sure to purge the system of air and check for leaks before firing the boiler. Post-mortum inspection revealed that my original valve was fine (moved freely), but that one of the micro limit switches was faulty. Hence the clicking sound as the motor kept running because one of the limit switches was bad. My boiler is 10 years old, but I'm not sure if the valve I replaced was original because I bought the house 1 year ago. I saw figures for this job in YT comments from $1500-$2400. I could understand a few hundred for this job if you're paying a pro to diagnose and fix it right the first time, but people are obviously being raked over for this job which would take a pro about an hour. Some of the screws you'll be removing are JIS (see photo). You can use philips screwdrivers, but do yourself a favor and get a set of JIS screwdrivers.

Purchase this to replace my 3-way valve that failed on my Navien NCB-240. There is a little plastic component that goes inside the outlet that connects to the strainer. That plastic component meets with the O-Ring to make a thigh connection so it wont leak. Is missing and now.

After spending a ton of money on a bunch of parts I didn't need. I got this valve which fixed my problem perfectly. I was a bear getting it in, but it was a straight-forward procedure.

This is the valve that is important in a combi boiler when using the Navien for heating and Domestic Hot water. This is the motor that diverts hot water when it is being called for Domestic Hot water or when heat is being called for. This is the exact replacement for the NCB-240 Navien Model which is what I used it for.

If your Navian combo boiler doesn't make hot water or heat this is the most likely reason. Difficult part to replace because you have to takeout the pump to get to it and screws tough to remove. Fortunately they give you the replacement brass threaded pipe connection if you can't get out the original screws and have to cut it out which I unfortunately had to do. Boiler is back working great and I saved some serious cash.
