This has a rough stone surface which enhances mashing. Substances don’t slide while you are grinding.Primed by first mashing rice and washing.My purpose for this mortar and pestle was to mash garlic for cooking purposes. I also primed with olive oil before using. Works well and I plan to also use for mashing herbs. You can gauge the desired texture with greater amounts in less time. Excellent tool!

Très satisfaite de cet achat ! J’ai acheté ce mortier à la base pour piler des médicaments : fonctionne très bien, réduction en poudre en une poignée de secondes. Je l’utilise maintenant pour les épices ! Clous. De girofle, ou autres épices dures n’y résistent pas ! La dimension est parfaite 👍 Je recommande !!!
