Unfortunately I was so busy that I did not give myself the time to return it. I did not use the trombone and it already has some serious issues.- First of all, the case stinks horrible, and it I will not go away. I bought 10 months ago and I tried to wash it, put it outdoor for several days, nothing works. I realized the white material inside the red protection is the think that stinks too bad and there is no way it will go away.- Second, When I wanted to grease the valves, the middle one was impossible to open. It is really stuck, besides the trombone looks really rusty in the inside.Third, I have seen the same trombone way cheaper. Definitely, it is not worth it.When I recently got it I remember my whole room would smell like the case.Skip a real problem and do not buy it!

TL;DR VersionDecent sound, paint is gross and instrument is factory dirty. Clean it out and figure out how to hold with so much weight on the front end. Case could be better. Not a terrible instrument for the price. Would not give to a young student because of the weight/balance issues.Long VersionInstrument First Impressions:Wow, the paint on this instrument stinks! Let it air out, give it a couple days. The paint is not great. It looks like the manufacturer taped off a few key areas so paint would not get inside the instrument, but missed a few and painted over some areas that need to move. For instance, the bottom valve caps are painted over and the mouthpiece receiver was not taped over during painting. The paint is also chipping extensively, where any time I play the instrument, I get black paint flakes on my clothes. The instrument itself - not a terrible sound at all! I'm a band director and my primary instrument is trumpet. I'm able to get a decent sound on this instrument. The valves are typical Euphonium valves you would see on a major brand. The action is not smooth at all, but I think it's because there is so much grime, grease, and dirt inside the instrument. I think after a decent cleaning, everything might work well. Some of the paint chipping is close to the valves, so be careful not to get that lodged inside or you'll never get it unstuck. The tuning slides are greased and move. I use my own name brand mouthpiece on it because the mouthpiece that came with it looks like it has grease and grime all in it. The regular small shank trombone/baritone mouthpiece fits. The case - falling apart after 2 days. No handles on the outside, just a strap which looks like it will break at any moment. Zipper closure- usually doesn't last long for most instrument cases. Red fabric inside covering styrofoam support - the fabric is coming loose and be careful to not get styrofoam pieces inside the instrument.Plays in the standard trombone key, valve combinations are the same as a 3 valve baritone/euphonium.Holding it is strange - it's not quite balanced enough to hold it like a trumpet or marching baritone, and I'm still experimenting with holding at a comfortable angle that doesn't make my left wrist sore after a few minutes. A typical slide trombone has a counterweight near the tuning slide over the left shoulder, but this has no counterweight and all the weight is supported by your left hand. It extends a bit further than a trumpet or marching baritone, so the weight displacement and balance is not great. Probably would not be great for a younger student, especially if arm length is too short for a slide trombone. The weight/balance of this would be far worse than dealing with a short 6th position for a few months.
