I use this as my daily work notebook for teaching (instead of five million sticky notes). The cover color is beautiful, the quality is great, and it’s the perfect size for carrying around with my laptop to meetings. The paper is silky, and I like that it isn’t bright white. I’ll definitely repurchase when this one is used up.

I love the color of it. I love the light green paper because I see it better when I’m writing. I know that sounds crazy but it’s true.

Eye-ease paper, flat, low profile, love it for taking with me to journal. The paper isn't perfect for foundation pens, but I make it work; I use a fine nib with a lighter color ink, no problem. Regular fountain pens with black ink and medium nib? Yeah, it shows through from the page but it doesnt' BLEED through; it's acceptable. I like this as a bound journal because it takes little space in my pack.

A friend gifted me one of these some years back, and I used it for my fieldnotes for my dissertation study.I now use it for all educational researcher fieldnote observations, and I gift it to other educators for their teaching observation notes.I like the way my pen glides across the paper, the line spacing, and the paper thickness/quality. What really sets it apart for me, though, is the numbered pages. When I type up my fieldnotes, I can reference the page numbers to go back to as necessary. I also leave some blank pages in the front to create a table of contents, and some in the back to create theme indexes (after the notebook is filled, obviously). I've found this invaluable.I am typically a basic marbled composition notebook user, and I do occasionally splurge for the Decomposition brand composition notebooks. Those are still my daily notebooks, for journaling and just like my basic lists and such, but I use these chemistry notebooks for this very specific purpose, and it is part of my researcher ritual now. I'm not even willing to try anything else for this purpose. The good hardcover keeps them safe for longevity, too!

The description (11x8.5" dimensions) and part number (43571) don't match. If you look inside the front cover of the books, it gives the correct part number for the 2 versions, and they don't match the current part number and description as of September 2018. It's not a big deal; I paid for the small version and received the large version, but if somebody specifically wanted the other size, this could be a headache for them.

I love these notebooks!I know they are chemistry notebooks, but I don't study/practice chemistry, so I can't say how nice they are for that purpose. I use the notebooks for writing. I use several types of notebooks for journals; basic notebooks for first drafts of writing projects; and I use these for writing poetry. The color of the paper is comfortable for the eyes. The paper is a nice thickness - it's great for use with #2 pencils, which I use for writing, and the pencil erases nicely from the paper. The pages are numbered, though that's not necessarily something that is important to me.The notebook lays out nice and flat, and the pages don't flip if you leave the notebook open. That's why I use it for poetry: I keep the book off to the side, that way I can simply reach over and jot down words and lines for the poem, without having to flip the pages to find out where I was. Poetry takes time and thought to write, and having a nice notebook to work in makes the process a joy.My only complaint is that they are rather expensive, and the price seems to keep going up.

I use these as a personal log book at work. The blue cover is a nice shade, the lines on the paper are perfect, the pages are numbered... a very enjoyable book to use.

I ordered this lab book to be used for the experimental recordings I take in my AP Chemistry class this year! In the past -- when taking Chem 1 or Chem 2 on a high school level -- my teacher simply asked that we provide, say, a composition notebook, that is bound, lined, and we were able to number.I cam across this beauty by complete accident when shopping amazon for chemistry goodies, such as mugs and shirts, hoping to get a gift for my teacher! I decided the book might be nice to try, and when I e-mailed her asking, she said that it would of course be fabulous if I decided I wanted it. Perfectly lined, bound, and even numbered pages -- big numbers, too, easy to see, which she appreciates! I do personally think the best part is the tinted pages, they are very easy and appealing to my eyes! The only downfall to the book is the fact that there is no labeling system for the front, which is something that is necessary for my class. I knew there wasn't one, though, so that's no fault of the brand. Just a thing I wish I wanted! Overall, a very fabulous book, and I recommend it to anyone interested. Money well spent!!
