I should’ve read reviews when I bought this kit. Fitment was fine and I greased the seal to ensure it broke in without issues. I confirmed installation as per the instructions were proper. It lasted two full cycles and then the piston seal blew out. Other people are saying the same thing. Buy the proper kit from a known seller, or dewalt. Glad it broke when I could still get a refund.

I followed installation instructions for the compressor and used all the new parts. In a couple of minutes it blew the piston gasket and the plate gasket was damaged!

This product is junk. Didn't last ten mins and completely destroyed itself. Now I am out the money and still don't have an air compressor.

UPDATE: I applied thread-lock to the ring retaining screw and retaining compound to the bearing housing, warmed them to about 150F and let them cool for 24 hours. But, this second kit failed the first time I ran it, never making it up to the 200 PSI the compressor is supposed to reach. I monitored the system with a non-contact IR temperature gauge, and the piston and sleeve reached ~250F by the time it got to 180PSI. As it continued to pump, the rubber piston seal obviously became soft, and blew out (see the third picture with the rubber ring blown out to the rear of the piston body). While it's true that the metal leaf valves keep the tank pressure behind them, the piston-internal pressure has to get above the tank pressure to push air into the tank (duh!), and the softened rubber of the seal couldn't take that pressure. So, end result is this isn't going to work, likely EVER. And no, the shop was nowhere near warm....more like 45F inside the shop today.ORIGINAL REVIEW: This kit installed fairly easily. However, the allen screws that holds the piston ring (on the arm) did not stay tightened. Because there were no instructions, nothing said the following:"Clean cylinder ring retaining screw and threads of all grease and oil using a solvent. Allow to dry and then add high-temp thread-locker to this screw and tighten securely to hold plate and ring in place. Allow thread-locker to cure 24hr before assembling into compressor and running."From what I can see, that central screw vibrated loose (yes, I **tightened it**) and then proceeded to destroy the face of the piston, and the resulting chunks and bits destroyed the seal. I didn't check very closely, but I'm going to presume the piston shell is ruined as well. The resulting mechanical nightmare then made the arm come off the bearing.I'm going to try again, and lock that bolt down good and tight next time.Seriously, Amazon (and Bonbo)...include some detailed instructions!

I should have bought the OEM version. I bought this b/c of prime and fast delivery. Upon first inspection, the unit looked fine, but I could the tell the o-ring/seal didn't match the OEM version. I installed anyway and the o-ring shredded right away.

Mi compresor volvió a trabajar como nuevo, muy fácil de instalar, sería perfecto que le agregaran un instructivo de instalación, yo tuve que ver un video en YouTube.

I dislike the fact that the piston ring only lasted a couple of minutes.
