Bought the check valve in June, installed in October. After a very short run time the relief valve (200psi) started hammering. Tank pressure was barely showing on the gauge. It seems that this check valve is blocked or failed. It's way beyond the 30 day return period. SOL here.UPDATE: after buying a replacement valve from another vendor I was forced to return it because the thread connections were not as advertised. I then bought another of this same valve and installed a pressure gauge in line with the 325psi relief valve. After just a couple of seconds of run time, this gauge showed over 300psi and the relief valve unloaded. This can only mean that the check valve is faulty and does not open at all to admit air to the receiver tank. Once again I am forced to replace it. I'm out for the cost of the test gauge and fittings as well.

This was a direct fit on a Ingersol Rand T30 stand up tank. PN 32499766. I originally replaced the electrical pressure switch with unloader valve as air was leaking from the valve on the switch. It stopped after replacement, so I figured that was it. Next cycle it started to leak again. Went to a local compressor repair shop and was helpfully advised to check this valve. It wasn’t easy to get to, but once I got it disconnected from the unloader valve and charge pipe it got easier. After removal from the tank it was obvious the valve wasn’t sealed. Ordered this one and installed it with thread sealant. No more leak.Now that it’s fixed for less than $20 with a new pressure safety valve it’s great!

I purchased the "85582229 Valve Designed for use with Ingersoll Rand compressors" to replace a leaking check valve on my vertical air compressor If you are looking for an exact match to the #SS5L5 OEM this is it. Before you order you might want to remove the existing valve and give it a good cleaning. An ultrasonic cleaner using white vinegar will make short of cleaning this brass valve. It may be something as simple as debris trapped in the valve and replacement is not necessary. A 1-1/4" socket and bar was necessary for me to break my valve loose as the thread sealer held it tight. I also recommend thread sealer rather than tape when reinstalling. There are two models for this 60 gallon compressor and two different check valves.
