Worked perfectly first try! My phone LG Stylo 5 (released 2021), running Android Version 10. I used the recommended app, PadTVHD. I'm in the suburbs of a large city in the USA, over 100 channels detected. (currently Jan 2025) Pictures bright and clear, HD, and sound good. I purchased it for emergency use in case of prolonged power outage, for news. I think it will suit that purpose well. I think it is a very effective, low cost way to prep for emergency situations. I'm going to purchase a second one for my wife right now. Very pleased. (the only negative so far is that I have to remove the phone case in order to fully plug in the USB-C connector because the device is a too little wide for my phone case) I wish someday it will also be available for Apple devices.

First, when getting this product please keep expectations in check. What I am going to share with you is my personal experience, so it may differ from yours. What is different about ATSC 1.0 tuners is that there are many variables in your situation that affect the reception or interference of TV signals. There could be trees, mountains or buildings in the way. There is an even important factor that you will see makes it more important to get it correctly.Secondly, the suggestions added to the ones this company suggests in the description - be near a window and plug it into your house antenna make for a much better result.Suggestion # 1 get a little stand for your tablet or phone so that you can place it and have the phone/tablet be completely still. Just like with a regular ATSC 1.0 Tuner both the TV and the antenna have to be completely still during the scan. So don't expect for you to be able you to be hand-hold the device or walk around the house with your TV in hand- IT IS NOT STREAMING!Suggestion #2- if you are going use a cellphone, put it on AIRPLANE MODE before doing the channel scan, you'll get a few more stations. I don't know why. Maybe absence of the 4G/5G signals creates less interference?Suggestion #3 consider using more with a tablet versus a phone, You get a whole much channels - why I don't know, but maybe no 4G/5G signals. Can you use it on a Fire HD10 Tablet? Yes. I have the latest tablet which I bought for like $85 on sale.Fire HD10 is my preferred method and the one that gets me most the channels. Others I installed tuner on Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22.Now in the channels in the Los Angeles area, we have many so don't be surprised of the number of stations - a good portion are foreign language. of religions stations. Here is my experience=====================.Different scenariossmall loop antenna with Fire HD10 = 79 channels, but a lot of pixelation and some channels are worse than others. But most likely you would not be able to see a whole TV show without interruptions.House antenna with Fire HD10 = 110 channels, some pixelation and some channels are worse than others.House antenna with Fire HD10 and LTE 4G/5G = 116 channels adds channel 9’s 6 virtual channels. These 6 channels do come in but with some interference. However, the rest of the channels come in very strong, more stable like regular TV.So to make this work better you need two things see: YouTube/YUx8IBKeW4A(Antennaman explains that repackaging of airwaves.)1) RF coaxial cable assembly MCX Male to Right angle ( I think work's best, but not necessary) and perhaps a short 1’ foot coaxial or and coaxial adapter link.2) LTE 4G/5G Filter. I use Philips brand like $11 on Amazon===….And don't pay any attention to the rating this product gets because if a product gets 1 bad rating that company needs to get like 8 to 10 to offset that one "bad" rating. So this is a slightly more technical product and most people simply do not know about the adapter, LTE filter or both. And people nowadays have no patience. Plus they think they can walk around the house and you can’t, that is why I say put it in a stand. Before I purchased this TV tuner. I asked the company whether the tuner had 4G/5G filtration. Answer: the Tuner does not have filtrationSo I have a $1,500 SONY that needs that same filter to receive channels better and receive ATSC 3.0 channels. All TV's work better and more reliably with it. But since ATSC 1.0 is not built to walk around the house - some people cannot make the distinction/nuance between streaming and broadcast TV. ATSC 3.0 you can drive around in a car and get the steady signals. Signals should not be affected much except maybe some very thick walls or deep in an underground bunker. Now there are some tuners that receive the broadcast signal and the put it on your houses WIFI for access over WiFi- obviously then you are streaming with the help of that specialized tuner- but you would still need that 4G/5G filter with in that tuner. Until they integrate the two. But for EMERGENCY SITUATIONS of no electricity, you will need to have a backup to watch TV or news. This product is it for those emergencies.===…Same goes with the low rating on the PadTV app, most people either don't know, or their expectations don’t align with the product or live in a bad area for reception.Of course, there are other factors most people don’t know the communication spectrum changed. So this happened with in the U.S., they took in a portion TV spectrum used by broadcast TV and sold it to phone companies. The actual frequencies changed, but the virtual channels you know in your area mostly did not change. And some cellphones with 4G/5G are around that they cause interference in the US… maybe worldwide.5 STARS :========.Conclusion, this is an absolutely fine product if you have the proper expectations. And the adapter/filter set up plus a GOOD HOUSE ANTENNA.Hopefully this company comes up this an updated product with 4G/5G filter integration. (at least for the US but I imagine worldwide). AND/OR comes up with, a turner that receives broadcast signal and makes it available in a simple server through house’s WIFI access. ( again emergency situations vs. convenience )The only thing I don't like is that the channels. are not organized in the listed presentation via their virtual channel number, but their actual frequencies. It is illogical to us what we know at least in the U.S. Meaning like a channel 2,4.2,5.6, etc. on broadcast TV is what channels should be listed on the App Pad TV HD. But I think that should be an easy change for the app developers.

Installed Pad TV from Play Store to my Samsung S22 Ultra and app won't open. Says "there is a bug in the app".

This worked well before. Then there was a software update and now there is no sound. Many reviewers have indicated they experienced the same issue. There are a few possible fixes suggested if you are a skilled technical person, which I am not. A link to a file is located on the Amazon Page for this product, but when attempting, a prompt asking for a Decryption Key blocks you from download. Question: Why doesn't the manufacturer just simply fix the software bug??? With the software bug, this product is worthless.

When I first tried it, the sound just didn't work at all. The app that you need to use the product is kinda bad in general, but the current version on google play just doesn't have sound at all on any of my phones. It has been this way for months it seems. I was able to get an older version that actually works, but having to do that feels really sketchy. Having sound is pretty important... so why they would just let it be broken on the app store for months is hard to comprehend. Funny enough, I can't use my headphone jack on most of my phones with this product because it is too bulky and blocks it. This thing doesn't seem to be very good with regards to energy efficiency. I left the brick attached to my phone while it was off for an extended period of time, and I came back to it and the brick itself was very hot to the touch, so it is just sitting there wasting energy for no reason. The app also lets the menu bar be very bright and distracting while trying to watch... that really ought to be fixed. All in all, with the creepy old APK version of the app, it does work decently well despite its flaws, and I get good signal.

This TV tuner is not for the technologically faint of heart, but if you have a little savvy you'll be able to get it going. The biggest issue I ran into is that the app they tell you to use doesn't work! It produces a picture, but no sound. You have to get the older version of the app (available on the website and in the respective App stores), then sound works fine. The newer app is "HD", but the picture with the older app looked about the same as the HD apps picture. It pulls in an impressive amount of channels for the tiny little antenna it comes with. It found about 70 in my close-in urban area, the same number my TV picks up. Only about 20 of those are useful- unless you like HSN or QVC- but you get all the bigs and any local channels available as well. How this will work on the road- I got it for the camper- is problematic, as it will entirely depend on signal availability at the destination. If you're out in the boonies, don't expect much. Overall I was very happy with this. The interface could be more intuitive and turnkey, but with a little effort it provides a nice solution to on-the-go broadcast TV.

Are you kidding me? This thing is amazing. They give you two different antennas. One is a little "rabbit ears" antenna at pulled in over 40 channels from sitting in my car in a parkinglot. The others is a tiny "loop" antenna that doesn't work quite as well, but I still got over 20 channels. The range is quite incredible and I never expected anything to work this well. Kudos for making such a great product. I am telling all my friends about this.
