I used an extention usb cable and left the antenna and device in my bag. It works well, digital TV with great audio, and will eventually download the guide.

This tuner works with my Google Pixel 6a (Android 14, build AP1A.240405.002), both video and audio, using the PadTV HD app v3.0.0.120 downloaded from the Google Play Store. Hardware acceleration is turned off as it resulted in a black screen when trying to receive certain HD channels, and I could not tell any difference otherwise. I connected the tuner to my home rooftop antenna and it pulls in the same 40+ channels that my other TVs can receive. The picture quality looked good to me on the small phone screen. The kit comes with a PAL TV female adapter to connect to a PAL TV male cable end. It would be nice if it included an MCX-male-to-F-female adapter for the US market. Connecting the tuner to the stiff coax cable puts a lot of strain on the USB connectors. I originally purchased this kit thinking that the included micro-USB-to-USB-C adapter would work better with my phone case. While it clears the case, it works even better with a longer USB extension cable, in which case the USB-C version (ASIN B09MLT465N) would require one less adapter. I'm using a 6ft USB-C extension cable without any discernable ill effects, and subjects less stress to the delicate housing. After reading the other reviews, I had low expectations of the unit and the PadTV HD app. I also own a HDHomerun dual tuner and I find that this app is functionally similar to but better behaved than the HDHomerun app. However, one notable flaw is how it sorts the scanned channels by RF channel number and not by the DTV virtual channel and subchannel numbers. I also use closed captioning and the font is a bit too small and needs to be further down along the bottom of the screen instead of being close to the center.I have not tried the video recording function but do not plan to use it. The tuner and app also seem fairly power-efficient. After 30-40 minutes, the Pixel 6a dropped about 10% in battery level.

So, I 😘 ve this little mygiga. But, that being said, you have to hunt on Google to find the older version, 108, to have audio with the channel you're watching. The link that Amazon gives you is expired. After I went to Reddit and followed the link another person left, the audio works great. I also had to locate myself in Canada instead of the US to get it to find channels. Once all that was done though it was great. The picture quality is awesome and the antenna is ok. It comes with an adapter to use an aerial antenna so that's my next purchase for it. Still a 4 star though everything considered, as we live off grid on solar and this keeps me from needing to power a tv.

Ok so I'm really impressed with this little gadget. Your mileage may vary depending on how far you are away from the ota stations but for me even the baby loop antenna picks up 18 or so stations and the cute little palm sized rabbit ears picks up even more. My plan is to get an adapter (MCX male to F female) so that I can use regular coax to connect to the powered digital antenna I already have on the RVs roof. Watching free TV while RVing is the best. I also love that this comes with the OTG adapter so that it works with both USB micro and USB C. You get a lot for the money here.

Easy setup, follow the directions, was able to get 40 plus channels on the first try. No problem with the video, or the sound. All of my channels have the same name as my regular digital TV antenna setup. No need to change the names. Samsung S24.

This is a cheaply made device which does somewhat work once you get it properly set up, but getting it properly set up is definitely not intuitive.1) As of this writing (April 2024) the software downloadable from Google Play does not work on many Android devices. You will get video, but no audio. This is an issue with the most recent update to the software (October 2023), has been brought to the developer's attention repeatedly, and has not been fixed. Your only options are to wait for them to eventually fix the issue (if they ever do) or download an older version of the software from a third party website and sideload it on your device. If you are not comfortable sideloading software, do not buy this device! It will likely not work!2) I've seen some horrible user manuals in my day, but this one takes the cake. It seems to be an nth-generation photocopy made on a machine that badly needs service. It is full of illustrations which cannot be made out because the contrast is so low that they are basically just a bunch of solid black boxes.Fortunately the installation process itself is not that difficult. Just make sure to install the software before you plug in the device and follow the prompts. If you plug in the device first, the installation will fail.3) I would strongly suggest turning hardware acceleration off to start out. It won't make a major difference in performance, and only one of the four devices I tried this on were capable of handling it. You can always go in through the settings menu and turn it on if you want to experiment.4) the device comes with two antennas: a simple loop and a pair of rabbit ears. Both are convenient and very portable, but neither one really works very well because they are not matched to the wavelengths you're trying to pull in. Your best bet would be to use the enclosed adapter and attach a standard DTV antenna to the device for the most stable signal.Once you've gotten it set up, it works...mostly. The user interface is awkward at best. You can change channels by right or left swiping, but it doesn't always work very well. Similarly the volume can be adjusted by swiping up or down. The on-screen guide can be accessed through the hamburger menu in the lower right hand corner. Even with a proper antenna, the device seems to do a relatively poor job of scanning channels however. I have three other ATSC tuners and all of them were able to identify more channels than this was.Bottom line is that for emergency use, this is better than nothing. It uses minimal power which it draws from your mobile device, which makes it ideal for use during a blackout or on a camping trip. I would recommend taking a real antenna along if you're planning on using it for any length of time.
