I purchased these items after having the older version of Hauppauge in use for some time. These work even better for our needs. I recommend this updated version to anyone wanting to record their gaming experience.

Got this capture card sense I am on a Linux computer and it works out of the box with OBS. The video quality is good for the price this costs sense it also works stand alone as well. The audio quality is pretty good when recording to a computer and only slightly worse when recording to an SD card but not really noticeable. I have not noticed any sounds issues when recording longer videos in stand alone mode and the video quality in stand alone is good for what this costs.I have not used this capture card with any 4k consoles and have only used it on 1080p consoles. The main console I got this for is the Switch sense that console lacks the ability to record for longer than 30 seconds and this capture card works great with the Switch.

Bought unit to record presentations at expos. Did not disappoint. Easy "set it and forget it" setup. Great video quality on captures, including capturing of 1080p60 video being shown by presenters.---UPDATE: This device need works. Recorded video quality is great, but audio quality is awful! I tried contacting Hauppauge tech support but got no reply. You have been warned.

Upgrades from my HD PVR2 GE to the PVR60 so I could be able to capture raw uncensored footage from my PS4 Pro/PS5 & XSX that would normally get censored via internal recording feature. I still own my PVR2 for the purpose of consoles that dont use HD Outputs. The PVR60 is great in its simpler deaign and ease of use. It can be used remotely with an SD Flash card instead of being connected to a PC at all times like the PVR2.The quality difference is quite noticeable and clearer between the PVR2 (slightly over saturated and darker colors, offset image) and PVR60 (Clearer, better colors and centered image).Id recommend upgrading to better HDMI cables that can support high speed and 4K+HDR pass through. The one that comes with it is fairly cheap and short. The PVR60 can get very hot, potentially to where it can shut itself off. I have bought a raspberry pi mini heatsink kit and placed them around the base/underside of the unit where the hotspots are and the device stays a lot cooler now.

Absolutely a great pickup here. I use this to capture footage from my consoles for my YouTube channel and it's so much easier to hook this up where the consoles are and have everything capture on the SD card than it is hauling everything over to my workstation. Great picture and sound quality, and possibly the easiest setup ever for a capture device. So happy I picked this up!!

DOES NOT WORK WITH XBOX ONE. At least not for recording to my PC. I have the hauppague capture program open and the window where the Xbox's output is supposed to be is nothing but a black screen with some pixelation at the top. I have a feeling it has something to do with HDCP (which isnt supposed to be activr playing a game). My pocket rocket works fine but only records at 30fps which is why I wanted to try this, but it is trash. I shouldnt need an HDMI splitter to remove HDCP (that isnt supposed to be there anyway) to record gameplay directly to my PC with this thing. Returning.

I used this to capture laptop output during a training session. I used it in standalone mode (no software install required) because I didn't want software to risk something going wrong with training. I was very happy with the clear video result. And it was crucial that the passthrough video to the projector I was using was high quality and not delayed. I also used a wireless microphone into the audio input to capture the instructor. It excelled for this task and price. The only improvements I would look for: 1) more clear indication of when it is recording and not recording. It flashes green when recording and solid green when not, and being the instructor I was focused on other things and forgot once and had things flip flopped. 2) it would be really helpful if you could set a file size limit so that it would split your video into bite sized chunks. I had classes running 4 hours and our editor had trouble when file sizes started getting enormous. I was happy that the lowest bitrate was still very good quality. It was most important that this worked reliably as I taught several class sessions and except for operator error once as noted, it worked fine.

Excellent product. My only issue was I had to purchase a separate 6ft. USB-C to USB cable at Target. The same type of cable that came with the HD PVR Pro 60 was long enough to connect to my router, which is great for recording in stand alone mode, but way too short to even reach my PC. It's too inconvenient having to move stuff around just for that. I prefer recording from the PC via Hauppauge Capture slightly more because, as you can see from the images, it seems I have both more control over adjusting the video quality and more video format options.Nonetheless, I've been a huge fan of Hauppauge for awhile now, and it's about time I started upgrading to capturing PS4 game footage in 60fps.EDIT:After playing trial-and-error with the Video Proc Amp settings in H. Capture, I found that setting ALL 4 knobs—Bright, Contrast, Saturation, and Hue—to 50 helps gets rid of the watered-down, "grey shade" in the videos when recording directly to the SD card. I use the default settings (B=59, C=42, S=50, H=50) only for recording to the PC. I'm learning just as much as everyone else =P. I realize these settings are for Street Fighter V and may not work for any other game, but hopefully this helps.
