I'm very happy with my purchase! I have had it for a few days now, I'm using it to pour petri dishes and do agar work. So far not a single plate has contam and I have done about 25 dishes, poured and then either freshly innoculated or transfered from other plates in front of this hood. Very happy with the performance of the fans, I had seen others mentioning the air blowing back, but that was not of concern to me as I could feel the air smoothly exiting the filter. The size is about right for me, I have a small work station, and I don't need that much width to my air stream. Overall it is a great value for the money, I'd gladly buy this product twice, and I will definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a small hood.

Be aware, this product is much smaller than you realize. If you are trying to spawn bulk substrates into large bins, this will not work well. If you are doing small items with inoculated grain bags and small dish sizes, it will be fine. This is exactly the size they measure it. For some reason I thought in my head it would be bigger. But is literally almost one square foot in size. Very small.I don’t think the price should be this high for such a small flowhood. You could make your own for $50 from the materials in this item. So what am I paying for? The brand, the startup, the overhead? Not worth the $$$ in my opinion.

After being contacted by a company rep, the unit works as intended when testing with a flame from a cigarette lighter. There is quite a bit of air- blowback- from the fans at the rear which gave reason to believe initially that the fans were wrongly installed. A diagram / user operating (expectation) sheet would have saved a lot of time and consternation.

Received product with extra parts. Seller contacted me and literally apologized for sending an upgraded version of the flow tool. I asked if they would like me to pay for the extra bits, they said no. Dig it. It works like a charm. Granted, this is small, very small for a laminar flow tool. But if you manage your space, it works well. I have zero contamination in all of the agar plates and grain spawn jars I inoculated. It does the thing.

The idea behind this is good but after a lot of transfers and agar pours I’ve found this to not be very good. I believe the 2 fans throw the flow off and brings more contaminants into the work space. Perhaps building this with a single fan. Very nice seller and very kind but I think this could be a better product. Now it’s going to sit and collect dust because I waste more material and time than if I was using a still air box. Very unfortunate.

The item arrived sooner than expected. It is smaller than the picture makes it look but the dimensions are as described. The flow hood works very well for a small working space. You can’t beat the price and it works great. I am pleasantly pleased.
