4.5 only because I had to connect a wire in the control switch because it wasn't connected. I was only getting low and high speeds but it was an easy fix. Only reason why they lose a .5

Placed a normal furnace filter on the back of the unit as a pre filter. All my agar transfers and grain transfers have came out 100% clean. Agar usually contaminates very easily the flow hood works.

Item is listed as a laminar flow hood which it in fact does not produce laminar air flow.

I use this filter and fan combo in my smoking room. The fan and the filter do a great job scrubbing the air of smoke and smell. Easy to install and moves a rooms full of air fast.

Packaging was SOLID. Double boxed and foam inside to protect the hood. Product is pretty dang nice upon inspection. The only thing I dont really like about it is the clips that hold the front to the back. Sides and top are just fine for the clips but putting them on the bottom really puts this hood in a position of not sitting flat to a table. Ill have to get something put together so it can sit flush on the table and not scratch my table up with that clip on the bottom. Poor design as far as that goes, but the rest of it looks pretty nice. There is no Prefilter, so ill do some work to get one installed myself. For the price, It really cant be beat. Its a little tank that hood. Ill add to this review once I get it to use with some LC bottles and Agar plates. Ill also note at that time my results for the laminar Test
