Folks... this is just 3 12v fans mounted on a 1" filter. This is not a flow hood (there is a reason flow hoods have actual flow ratings/pressure drops stated...and filters several inches thick), nor will it really give you any advantage over a 6$ SAB for doing mycology work. It's not even laminar -- with that much turbulence from those fans you might as well do things in front of a box fan and filter from home depot. Save you money

The fans are not song enough to provide laminar flow. They are the wrong type of fan as well. A majority of the pressure exerted by the fans would be lost through the other fans openings so the cfm would not be additive. This size hepa filter would also require about 150 cfm which these computer fans could not produce.

Several point to make.First, there is no written instructions in the package, only a parts list. I found a video on my own through Amazon.Second, the sides and back are just plastic (all one sheet wrapped around) fixed with two-sided tape that you have to do yourself. Then trim the excess.Third, one of the sides was missing it's two-sided tape so had to go buy some. It also made figuring out where everything goes more difficult.Fourth, the posts that you fix the left and right side frames too are week and one of them broke with just hand tight pressure - should have been warned about that. Used glue instead.Fifth, none of the pieces are marked top, bottom, right, left, you get the idea. Wasn't even an explanatory diagram included. So because I didn't know how the final product would look, had to tear it down and start over. How hard is it to label item top, bottom, right, left? I guess very hard considering there were no instructions or diagram at all and the video I found did not explain which pieces are front and back or right and left either. In case you haven't noticed, I'm pretty hard on sellers who don't communicate what I need to know to assemble and then use the product.

I use this for mycology. Its idea is geat. Is it perfect, no. Does the company have great customer service. Sure do. I still get contam bruh. But alot less then i did. I have done mostly agar work. I havent done any gormet bag inoculations in it. I feel like that would be fine because of the height of the bags. Ive noticed that when my agar jars are closer to the top instead of down on the work surface seems to be more effective.Light is bright enough. 5 stars cuz of the customer service.
