I'm a very serious amateur musician who has been writing and recording for...well, forever. I've been using MIDI extensively for nearly 40 years. And having recently retired, I'm able to spend 40-50 hours a week just writing and recording music. Recently, I started working on an Ableton-based live solo set, which is why I got this little two octave keyboard. I have three Roland Boutique mini synths I wanted to use, but only got two of the "dock keyboards" for them. This one is hooked up to the third one.Of course, it's not that simple, because this budget mini-key keyboard does NOT have a DIN MIDI out for a direct connection to the Boutique. But with some MIDI routing through Ableton, I was able to get it to work the way I wanted easily enough. I'm used to mini keys, and, while I don't prefer them, they're no problem to me. For the money, this is a solid enough keyboard, though of course I wouldn't use it as a MAIN keyboard.I have not tried the Bluetooth connectivity because for my purposes, why would you want to use that and introduce additional levels of latency? But it's there if you need it. It DOES have a sustain pedal jack and USB host jack, which I'm using and which work great. The on-board controls are easily to map in Ableton, and for what I'm using it for, it's working out well. I can't vouch for the pads because I have that covered with an 8x8 "pro" pad and an SP-404 Mk II for hand drumming. But for the money, this definitely does the job. Works great with my M1 MacBook-based studio.

The M-WAVE 25 Key is a nice little MIDI controller. Bluetooth worked really well for me, both on PC and my iPad Air M2. Also flawless if you use it wired. I use FL Studio on my PC but it should work great with any DAW. And you should have control over practically everything you need with the transport controls, 8 pads, 8 knobs and 2 touch stripes (pads and keys are also velocity-sensitive!). Very portable if you need a controller on the go, large enough to be useful but small enough to stuff it in a backpack. There are some scale and chord features I haven't tried yet but even without them this controller has more than met my expectations.

I’m new to midi controllers and this is my first. I don’t have anything to compare it to. The instructions are pretty basic and don’t really help get you up and running. I had to watch several YouTube tutorials. If you are new to midi controllers like myself, I recommend looking up how to use midi controllers with whatever specific DAW you use, I use reaper and there’s lot of YouTube tutorials online. I’ve only just scratched the surface with the M VAVE, but can already tell there’s lots of creative avenues this will be fun exploring.

I like this keyboard. It’s great if you’re on a budget and don’t have a lot of space. I use it simply for the keys but I’ll need to take some time to figure out the pads and the other features.The keys are smaller than a regular keyboard so that takes a little getting used to. But otherwise it’s great and it does what I need it to do.I love the look- all black And the light colorful pads. The pads are nice and smooth to the touch almost like velvet.
