I’m sure the product is great but I’ve ordered twice and each time it’s arrived open with 80% of the contents leaked all over the undamaged packaging . Lid seems flimsy and pops off in transit .

This leather pad oil is a must-have for any woodwind player! I use it on my clarinet pads, and it has made a noticeable difference in their longevity and performance. The application is easy, and it helps keep the pads from becoming too stiff. A great product for anyone looking to protect their investment!

Bottom line - seems to work well (but company I am renting from told me to not use on their instrument). To preface this review, I want to state that I have never played any sort of woodwind instrument nor do I know much on their maintenance. My 4th grade son just started saxophone at the beginning of the school year and we are renting one from a local shop. Some of the pads were a little worn and had staining, so I thought I'd give this product a try.Application was pretty straight forward, though some of the tighter areas were a little challenging to get to using the supplied applicators. To my untrained eye, the pads certainly seemed to cleaned up very nicely and also seemed to be rejuvenated a little. The instrument certainly sounded a little better after use....though I did notice one pad was ripped and needed to be replaced. When I took the instrument to the rental place, the person told me to NEVER use any type of oil on the pads. He said that while short term it may seem like it helps, in his experience oils always cause issues in the long run. Maybe with running a rental company most of his experience is with people like me who may oversaturate the pads with too much oil, causing the issue.I reached out and was informed the ingredients of this are Mineral oil and Polyisobutylene. I thought I'd include this for those if you wondering exactly what they are applying to their instrument. My 4 star review is a reflection of the following - product seemed to work well to my untrained eye, but wondering if there really is a long term issue with the pads when using oil. I will oblige my rental company's request and no longer use the product.

I am all about maintenance to extend the life of an instrument. I know that good maintenance will also allow me to play good music. I have experienced that over time the pads are the first to begin giving trouble so keeping them oiled will be important. The bottle has a little brush to apply the oil on the smaller easy to access pads. There are also two additional swabs for larger pads. Rochix is a well known supplier of instrument supplies with many highly rated products. This should be good as well.
