Three simple methods-using mulch adhesive

rock glue

Mulch glue, mulch anchor five commonly asked questions with simple explanations:

  • 1. Poor adhesion?

To get a strong adhesion, apply 2 to 3 coats of mulch, and let the first coat dry for 24 hours or until it's completely dry before adding the second coat.

  • 2. How to spray?

To achieve optimal curing, apply mulch glue directly onto the mulch film without dilution.

  • 3. How to spray? Unable to spray? Doesn't work in sprayer?

If you encounter low sprayer pressure or thickening of the adhesive over time, in which case you can dilute it with 20 to 50 percent water. (Note: Clean the sprayer right after using it to prevent glue from hardening and causing blockages.)

  • 4. Drying and curing problems?

To avoid drying and curing issues, make sure the base material is dry, free from moisture, sediment, and dust. Also, aim to work on your project when the temperature is above 68°F, humidity is below 70%, and there's sunny weather expected for the next three days to ensure complete curing.

  • 5. How to mix?

When using it on areas where kids and pets often play, like sidewalks, it's a good idea to mix the glue and cover evenly before starting the construction. Spraying can result in the base layer not being properly covered with glue or uneven coverage.

5 Reasons Why Choose Shabebe Rock glue for landscaping, Gravel glue, mulch glue with sprayer, mulch glue for landscaping

  • Mulch glue works as an adhesive to bond mulch together to form a strong surface. This will help prevent kids from tracking the mulch away from where it belongs, pets from digging in mulch, and wind and rain from blowing mulch in unwanted areas.

  • It would depend on your usage. A good application, on to a free draining stable base would be expected to last 24 months. We would recommend to top up annually.

  • Yes, This Mulch glue is non-toxic, and completely safe for kids and pets. We do recommend keeping kids and pets away from the treated area for 24-48 hours until the product has dried completely.

  • Do not apply Mulch glue when there is a chance of rain within 24-48 hours. If the rain compromised the product, we recommend reapplying the product when rain is not predicted in for three days.

  • We would recommend between 4mm and 10mm diameter for the best bond. But you can use stones up to 15mm and still achieve good

results. Even larger stones can be bonded if clean and angular.

It works as described. I applied it to pine straw. Diluting will lighten the color from dark red to a dark to lighter orange. It sticks and my blower can’t blow my pine straw away. It’s stuck in place.

Product worlds good. Buy with confidence. However the printed instruction are very tiny print. Also, it’s my opinion that dilution with water instructions should be expanded and up front in the instructions in larger type. I bought 1 gallon and tried to spray without dilution. Did not work well as all I could get is one thin squirt of product. Adjusting the nozzle did not help. So then I diluted the product with water 100% and finally got a decent spray. It looks great but did not cover near the advertised coverage. I got what I wanted done so happy and it looks great. Don’t hesitate to purchase this product but be sure you have a good sprayer with a “fan” type nozzle.

So I have a landscaping project that I am in the middle of and and still going back and forth on how I want it all to turn out in the end. So I got this to test a small section of it. I was originally going to rocks and use the mulch glue to hold them in place but when I came across this red mulch glue…I figured I would give this a try.I used a very small amount and as you can see from the photo…I think the color pops nicely and most of all it’s held in place super sturdy with really good adhesion. With everything in place it will make it really easy to clean off the leaves from the fall time..which is a usual issue for me and I end up messing things up as I’m picking up leaves. I think this is gunna work out great!I will be getting more and expanding past the little section I have shown in the photo to completely transform the area that I’m working with!I would suggest starting with the small bottle and do a little test area like I did. Then go big once you know it will work for you.I can tell you though that this stuff is a good price and the quality really is 5 stars. Give it a try!

Used this product to restore color to the once black bark used around our fruit trees as well as for the reasons described on the product page (prevent displacement etc.) I used a hudson sprayer to distribute over the existing mulch, using a 2-1 water mixture. The weather worn bark regained the dark black color nicely. To get proper coverage you need to use a rake to re-distribute the bark in order to get better coverage. (otherwise only top of grayed bark gets dye treatment. That will easily result in two coats being applied which does a decent job of returning the color, but without doing something like used a roller, the gluing effect was less effective. At best sections clumped together - primarily because the amount of random contact the bark actually has with the surrounding bark. I could have done a 3rd coat, but I wanted to be sure to have enough liquid to get all of the black bark around 5 trees. I needed to use the sprayer pretty conservatively to get it all done, and again the color returns, but the gluing less so, especially if you're trying to stretch the product. So I guess you need to have a lot on hand, use it very liberally to get the better results. I'd probably look for just a dye solution moving forward and accept that the birds, dogs, deer and leaf blowers are going to mess with the bark no matter what you do.

Buy a cheap sprayer and plan on throwing it out. I diluted much more than the package called for. It's holding my mulch in place during rain and leaf blowing.
