I have pea gravel on two areas of my yard that are in total shade. However my dog likes to lie there especially on hot days because it’s so cool. He makes a mess of the gravel and scatters it everywhere. Decided to give this a try and it works. I’ve only done one side of the yard and it has really made a difference once totally dry. It was very much like spraying glue on. I used a 2 gallon fertilizer sprayer with a wand and broad angle nozzle. You can walk on it and it doesn’t scatter the pea gravel so I highly recommend this.

So chunky even me at 250lbs shaking it violently didn’t mix it enough that it didn’t kill my brand new sprayer in quite literally 3 seconds. It had lump at the bottom that wouldn’t break up so I assume it is well past it use date despite the fact they don’t include any dates on the container. Will be returning this, very disappointing.

It finally got warm enough for me to try this product on a couple of small test beds. I made a small batch in a spray bottle, which worked okay for the size of the tests I was doing. For actual work I will definitely want to use a pump sprayer. This is what I found. - The product is easy to apply. Just mix and spray. It's almost like using weed spray. - The product is largely unnoticeable after it dries - It did a good job of holding wood mulch in place - The 1" river rock I tried it on was either not porous enough, too large, or both - Cleaning out the sprayer seemed easy enough, but a couple of days later I found the spray bottle was clogged. This is likely because I used the wrong type of sprayer in my testsI usually swap out my mulch every couple of years. This is the tail end of how long this adhesive is supposed to last so that aligns with my gardening process. The mulch I take out goes into a composting pile for branches and twigs. I'm not sure how this glue will affect the composting process. I won't know if it has an effect for several years as the composting of larger materials takes a lot of time.

This looks like milk in liquid form and dries clear with a bit of a shine. If you've ever used any water-based clear wood finishes it seems to have many similarities to that. Even the wood finishes are expensive, but when you buy them by the quart or gallon they generally cover a lot more area than if you were spraying them on the ground. This product is a 1:1 mix so you do get twice the volume of liquid, but once you get to spraying it disappears pretty quickly.I think the secret to using this material effectively is to limit the coverage to edges where mulch or small gravel tends to spill out of retaining walls or edging, and limit or avoid altogether spraying the center areas where there is less need to lock the mulch down. I have used this both for mulch where it joins concrete sidewalks and for locking pea gravel that is used to fill gaps around the house. It is very effective for locking the gravel, but the mulch retention is limited more by how much to put on, since it is absorptive. It's good material and it does what it says, but it does have a limited life and if you use full coverage applications per the directions every few years the cost will start to add up.

Lockdown Mulch Glue has proven to be an absolute game-changer for my landscaping projects. I was initially skeptical, but it has completely lived up to its name and exceeded my expectations. I used it to secure a combination of wood chips and small pebble rocks in various areas of my yard, and the results have been remarkable. The glue has created a strong, durable bond that has withstood not only regular foot traffic but also the weight of a car parked on the rock-covered area. I was particularly concerned about the rocks shifting under the weight of a vehicle, but the Lockdown Mulch Glue held them firmly in place. The application process was surprisingly simple and efficient. I used a standard garden sprayer, which allowed me to cover large areas quickly and evenly. The glue has a thin consistency, so it flowed easily through the sprayer without clogging. It's important to follow the instructions regarding dilution and application rates, but once I got the hang of it, the process was a breeze. One of the biggest advantages of this product is that it dries completely clear. This means it doesn't alter the natural color or appearance of the wood chips or rocks. The finished result looks neat and professional, as if the mulch and rocks were naturally held in place.I highly recommend Lockdown Mulch Glue to anyone looking for a reliable and effective way to secure mulch, rocks, or other landscaping materials. It's a fantastic product that delivers on its promises. The ease of application, combined with its impressive strength and clear drying finish, makes it a must-have for any landscaper, whether professional or DIY. It has saved me time and effort in maintaining my landscaping, and I'm confident that it will do the same for others.

I’m in the Midwest and once spring hits and I’m able to put out new mulch for the year, this will be sprayed on right away - immediately! I’ve seen videos of this product going viral because it does literally glue down your mulch / hold it in place. I’m excited to try this out because every time while mowing the lawn, and the grass clippings are flying around and get RIGHT on top of your newly placed mulch (especially black mulch where it’s 10x more obvious) it is so irritating that a leaf blower can’t get them off without blowing your mulch all around, and obviously there are bigger problems in the world than grass in mulch. But! We do live in a neighborhood of competitive dads who act like they’re about to be featured in better homes and gardens or something, so anything to make it easier on us millennial homeowners - sign me up lol! So excited to whip this out in two months once it’s warm enough weather to apply it!
