Teexpert Strong Mulch Glue for Landscaping

mulch glue for landscaping rocks pea gravel glue rock glue for landscaping mulch and rock glue

For landscape areas, apply by pouring or spraying, dilute with 10-50% water and shake well. 1 litre per 35 sq. ft. Apply 2 or 3 thin coats for the strongest finish. For high-traffic areas, mix clean, dry gravel directly with mulch glue and no dilution.

To Maximize Effectiveness

1. In Good Weather Conditions: Mulch glue continues to gain strength for 48 hours, so it's crucial to let it dry in good weather conditions: temperatures above 68°F / 20℃ and humidity below 70%. Since it's water-based, rain can dilute the glue, weakening the bond strength.
2. Clean & Dry Base: Before applying mulch glue, ensure the base material is dry, clean, and free from moisture, mud, oil, or dust. Contaminants can impede the bond between the stones.
3. Notice Before Use: Before using the product, please shake the liquid to ensure its uniformity and prevent blockage of the nozzle. If your sprayer has low pressure or there is thickening of leftover adhesive over time, dilute it with 10% to 50% wate to prevent the nozzle from clogging.
4. For a More Robust Finish: You can apply 2 or 3 thin coats of mulch glue for the strongest finish, allowing the first coat to dry for 24 hours or until fully dry before applying a second coat. Applying the glue too thickly at once may cause improper curing, leading to an opaque color and white/blue residue.
5. Long-Lasting Effect: Mulch glue typically remains effective for one year. It's recommended to reapply it to your garden after the winter season for added reinforcement. Use within 6 months after opening. May turn white when exposed to rain, but will become transparent again after dry.

Rock Glue for Landscaping

During use, please spray/pour continuously, or intermittently for no more than 5 minutes at a time, to avoid nozzle blockage. If the ambient temperature exceeds 77°F during application, glue drying may accelerate. Dilute with approximately 10% more water is recommended to prevent nozzle blockage.

  • Teexpert mulch glue gravel binder is safe for plants and pets once fully dry, when used as directed. However, we recommend keeping children and pets away from the treated area for 24-48 hours until the glue is completely dry.

  • For pouring, use a watering can with multiple holes; for spraying, use an electric pump sprayer; for mixing, use a drill or a paddle, or a gauging trowel.

  • Ambient temperature should remain above 68°F, and humidity below 60% for 48 hours before and after application, with no exposure to rain. Since it's water-based, rain can dilute the glue, weakening the bond strength.

  • Wood chips, bark, pine straw, cypress mulch, rubber mulch, pea gravel, pebbles. For spray or pour application, 35 sq.ft. per quart at 1” depth (2 coats) after diluted. For mixing, 22lbs of stones per quart (Adjusted by stone size) without dilution.

  • For low-foot traffic areas, use normal or concentrated mulch glue instead of ready-to-use. For normal glue, mix directly with clean, dry gravel without dilution; for concentrated rock glue, dilute with 30%-60% water before mixing for full coverage.

Commonly problems you may encounter:

  • Why isn't the mulch glue working well?

First, apply the mulch glue in warm (above 68℉) and dry (humidity below 70%) weather conditions for a continuous period of 3 days, avoiding its use in rainy or high humidity conditions. Second, ensure that the base material is dry, clean, and devoid of moisture, mud, oil, or dust. Finally, apply 2 or 3 thin coats of mulch glue for the strongest finish, allowing the first coat to dry for 24 hours before applying the next.

  • How can I prevent the mulch glue from clogging my sprayer?

For pouring and spraying, dilute the glue with 10%-50% water and shake well. Apply using a Watering Can with Multiple Holes for pouring and an Electric Pump Sprayer for spraying. Clean the can or sprayer promptly after use to prevent nozzle clogging. You may consider using a disposable watering can to avoid hassle. Non-electric pumps are more prone to clogging during spraying.

  • White/blue residue after drying?

Our mulch glue initially appears light blue when sprayed due to light reflection, but it becomes clear after drying. Also, applying the glue too thickly at once may cause improper curing, leading to an opaque color and white/blue residue. We recommend applying multiple thin coats instead. More, extended exposure to standing water from rainfall can also lead to the formation of white residue. Applying the glue in warm, dry weather may resolve it.

  • How long does the bonding effect of mulch glues last?

Our rock glue typically lasts for about 12 months before requiring reapplication, although this timeframe may vary depending on the climate and other factors. It's recommended to reapply it to your garden after the winter season to provide additional reinforcement.

  • Does it work for rubber mulch?

Sure, this mulch glue works for all types of mulch. Before use, please ensure that the rubber mulch is dry, clean, and free from moisture, mud, oil, or dust. Finally, apply 2 or 3 thin coats of mulch glue for the strongest finish, allowing the first coat to dry for 24 hours before applying the next.

Works okay. Doesn’t last very long. I would put more than 3 coats on it. And you will have to redo it every year. Holds up for a little while.

This did not work as well as advertised. We did as the directions stated but the glue did not work as directed. Nothing stayed in place so we are very disappointed and now we have to buy something else that hopefully will do the job this product was supposed to do. Do not recommend.

(SEE UPDATE AT BOTTOM. Picture is from my original review below - was 3 stars. )Pros: you get a lot for your buck here (given that other mulch glues are just as expensive, if not more, for less material). This stuff is *truly* a glue that you are spraying directly on your mulch. It holds well.Cons: Beware that although it claims to "dry clear", the image I've posted is from over 48 hours after application and it still had globs of blue chunks throughout the mulch.I applied this as any homeowner would: with a chapin/home depot sprayer that I would use for any other spray application like a pesticide or deck wash. I applied an even coat throughout the mulch. Now (time of posting this review) it's been over a week and I still have blue areas on my mulch. Not to mention it is shiny in the sunlight. I suppose I can't knock them too much because now it literally looks like I just dumped Elmers glue all over my mulch.***UPDATE / EDIT: The company reached out to me concerned about my experience. They sent me a *new* gallon of the mulch glue and provided some tips. Notably, to dilute the gallon with 10-15% water in the sprayer. Originally, this tip was not included in the instructions, believe me, I looked thoroughly! I was surprised there was no dilution instructions, since most other mulch glues say to dilute. After I diluted my new gallon, I can confidently say I did not experience ANY of the cons in my review above. In fact, I have applied two brands of mulch glue on my property. This is by far the superior product. Even with the dilution, the glue dried clear, did not leave a shiny residue, and has a significant hold on my mulch. I accidentally ran my sprinklers overnight too, so the glue hadn't had a full 24 hours of dry time. Still, it hold surprisingly well. I mowed the lawn this afternoon and I was able to use my leaf blower to blast any grass clippings right out of my mulch beds. It's an impressive product for the price, and I will certainly be buying more next year. 5 stars!

Was excited to use this. Read and reread directions multiple times. thought it was suppose to be mixed with water but could not find it in directions. so did not mix with water. Used watering can ( brand new one) to spread it with. ehhh. looks like streaks of glue on rocks. does not spread over all the rocks. did not cover nearly as much as expected either. Clean up next... absolutely no directions on how to clean the watering can. nothing. Threw brand new can out .Very poor directions. Very expensive for what it covered. do not recommend this at all.UPDATE**** I did not contact the company, only left this review. They however contacted me and offfered a full refund ( not for watering can though) i did want to say they are a respectable caring small company. Theyexplainedthe directions which i apparently didnt get in full with order. did send me directions for next time if i decide to buy it again... and yes i was suppose to mix with water....Long story short i did take them up on an offer to reorder with the right directions..... very kind people to work with.wish me luck on the next batch!!

We decided to use small and large rocks along the fence and the glue is holding them together really well. We bought a pump but we ended up stirring the rocks and glue around ourselves. Works as it says. Highly recommend.

We are putting down new pavers in the backyard in several places, along with pea gravel. The problemis we also have dogs. My husband found this mulch glue in a landscaping post, actually another brand but it didn’t have such good reviews, and they had used it with pea gravel. I’m so glad he found it as it’s a brilliant invention. I went with this brand because of the previous reviews, the others I looked at didn’t have such great ones and I think I know why. This product you don’t add water, like the others call for and I believe that’s the difference. It’s a pretty thick substance, but it still sprays well. I used a garden sprayer with a lot of pressure. It needs 24hrs to cure, but it did harden up after a few hours. The directions are very easy to follow. They recommend a yearly application. I’m excited to see how it holds up. Worth the money not to have gravel kicked up everywhere and very easy to apply. Make sure to rinse off the rocks before application.
