That being said, it just produces an analog voltage signal based on it's readings.There's also the option to set a trigger event onboard if values exceed a certain level.I found it to be completely non-responsive to a direct blast from a Co2 canister.That isn't scientific fact, it's just my experience. I wanted to build an AC leak detector based on Co2.I will be moving up to the next level which is an SPI device. I expect it will make far more data available to my micro controller.I'd definitely be willing to select this module for an application without a micro controller.I don't know if I'd trust it for a safety response system. But I'm also not saying you can't. I haven't tested it in the fire/smoke detection range.It goes crazy from electronic cigarette vapor. It will also respond very slightly to a direct slow exhale of breath.Just be sure that this module will suit your needs. I require a more complex form of multi-molecular analysis which this simply isn't intended for.
