This monitor does not transfer background noise. The sound adjusts knowing what should come through and what shouldn’t.

The thing is that if you’re not completely silent then you won’t be able to hear the baby. Other than that it works alright.

This audio monitor is easy and straightforward to use: plug in, turn on both, and set the preferred sound volume. I like the silent indicator light that shows solid green when both monitors are connected, and beeps and flashes if they're not. I use this in my dogs' bedroom overnight and it picks up low sounds well, in addition to louder sounds. I found this to be a good basic monitor set at a reasonable price.
