No mention of what type of battery was needed or that the needed battery was included as I started reading directions, so that really threw me for a loop and sucked. Then I found that batteries were included but not easily seen. Set up was fairly easy from there. The baby monitor is at the far-end of our property in a detached garage, perhaps 350 feet away and it works fine with the parent monitors in the house. It's being used to alert us to noisy thieves in our detached garage after a recent break-in.

Best monitor I've ever used! We live next door to my Dad. This system gave us one receiver to use in the guest room at his house, where we take turns at night, plus another unit to use at our house in case he needs us during the day. Both are portable and work outside in the yard, with good volume and a clear signal.

I purchased this for my elderly, sick mother, and it done its job. Highly recommended we could hear her breathing. I could talk to her if she hollered at us I could answer.

We had the older version for our first child. But I like this one much better! The sound it picks is amazing. And the little orange light is just the right amount of light for those 3am feedings. FYI...you can turn the light off if it's not your thing. But I love it!

Monitor works great in our 3000 square foot, two story home for hearing baby cries. I’m impressed it stays linked through walls and even outside. The sound quality is great and it’s very affordable. We had good experiences with vtech monitors in the past and were glad to find this extended range model that works in our new home.

I got this to be able to hear my elderly mother from her bedroom. So far, one month in and it's working great. My son and I take turns sleeping over at her place. She fell last month and we want to be close while she's healing. My son was there and heard her fall again, through the monitor. He was able to get to her fast and help her. She felt safer knowing he was there and heard her and got to her quickly. She was not injured this time. Luckily.

In this day and age, almost all products are shipped with a power supply which is able to handle both 110 and 230 volts AC. Not the case with this item! It cannot be used outside of the US without purchasing 3 new power adapters. The worrying part is that only a diligent user would realise this (luckily I’m an electrical engineer so I noticed). Anybody importing the product to another country could get caught out because if they tried using the US only power adapter which is included it would likely destroy the units. Seriously V-Tech? Whilst I do understand you want to keep costs low, we do live in a globalised world. I haven’t faced this compatibility issue with other products since the early 2000s!
