This is a great mortar and pestle! The finish of the stone is smooth and pretty, the inside of the bowl is textured and not glazed, which makes grinding things a breeze. The Mortar is half glazed, and the unglazed bottom has a great grip on spices that I grind.This thing is heavy too, and it comes with a nice silicone mat to help keep it still on a flat surface. I highly recommend this.

Nothing to dislike with this product. This is the perfect size for making a small amount of guacamole. For just wife and I, we use a single avocado (could easily handle 2) as an occasional snack before dinner. It's the perfect size for a small batch. Our big one that was bought in Mexico is massive, weighs a ton and isn't something that you'd want to leave out when not it use. This little guy actually adds some charm sitting on the countertop.

I expected a larger volume vessel, but it worked well grinding TURMERIC. The handle is long enough on the pestle. Friction was good. Turmeric stained the rough surface, but that doesn’t shock me. I like it, but would have chosen black, given the option if black granite was available, but it’s not.It was packed well, and appears to be a nice quality. I will keep it, even though I didn’t expect to receive a product that only has about a 2-cup volume. I was seeking a 4-cup mortar & pestle.I may come back to re-appraise my experience with it. But for now, 4/5.

My first husband bought me a small white ceramic mortar and pestle set. I liked it, but it was not what I wanted. I grind more at a time than it would hold. I bought one for myself when with my second husband, but he balked at the price of the one I wanted, so I got a little one again. My second husband passed away and my househelper broke the little one that I had for years, SOOOOO, I finally got to buy the one I wanted all this time and it is beautiful!!! I LOVE IT!!! I don't mean for this to sound all bitter, I loved my husbands, but they WERE a bit cheap sometimes, lol.

Purchased as a gift for a friend who loves to cook. It comes with a spoon, a basting brush, and a silicone pad to keep it from slipping while in use. The mortar and pestle themselves are attractive, sturdy, and solid enough to do a really good job. I highly recommend.

This mortar and pestle is not only as elegant and sturdy as anything you'll find at expensive homewares stores but it came with a silicon base so it doesn't slip when you use it, a cleaning brush, and a darling little spoon for serving whatever you've ground up. As an added little touch, they included four bookmarks - one for each season - so you can easily find your recipes in your cookbooks to use your new-found treasure. I am totally touched by the quality of this item and the thoughtful way it was presented to me. More vendors should be so in touch with their customers. Bravo!

I wasn’t sure what to expect but I am more than pleased. My husband enjoys cooking & several dishes have ingredients that will be much easier to prepare with a pestle & mortar. It arrived on time & was more beautiful & better quality than I had anticipated. It is very heavy & looks like something I would get from Williams Sonoma etc. It was packaged very well & I did not see any cracks upon initial inspection. Very appreciative of the silicone mat, brush & spoon that we’re included. The mat will prevent slippage & possible scratches to our counter tops while using it.This is a gift for my husband so I will update if needed after he has used it. But I don’t forsee any issues using it. Very pleased!
