One of the sealed packs of 5 trays was already growing mold, which I discovered when I opened the outer 2 layers of packaging. The second sealed pack of 5 appeared to be ok, but not sure I can trust those to not already have contamination.

This mold kit comes with 5 prepared, sealed petri dishes, 10 cotton swabs, 2 pairs of gloves, and labels. The instruction booklet that comes with the kit is especially useful. It has very clear instructions for use, suggestions on different places to test for mold and how to best use the kit for those places. It also contains a list of common molds with pictures of the different molds and where they are most often found, as well as how to best clean and remove mold from various surfaces.

Figured I'd test around the house since spring is almost here. Got this black mold kit so if I had a problem, I could nip it in the bud ASAP. The instructions were very clearly written and it was easy to use. Waited for 48 hours. Did not see any mold, which is obviously a good thing. Will keep testing other rooms to make sure I'm in the clear!

While this kit took a very long time to receive, it was worth the wait: I was able to confirm not only the presence of mold in an area under my house near my furnace's air intake, I was able to determine to a reasonable degree of probability what type of mold exists, which makes it easier for me to determine best approach to destroy that mold! I was quoted over $300 for an expert to come out and test, so this 5-pack mold test kit has already saved me a lot of money.The included written instructions are excellent and explain how to use the kit in multiple ways, such as testing ambient air and surfaces. They are even printed in a readable type size, although still small type, I didn't need to pull out my magnifier.I've used two of the test kits so far, and both worked exactly as described in the instructions. It's nice having extra kits because I'll be able to use them to confirm the mold is gone once I (hopefully) eradicate it all.Overall, these kits exceeded my expectations, are a great value, and I definitely recommend them.

The mold kit was fairly simple to use. It comes with multiple dishes, q-tips, scrapers, & aninstruction guide. I just wanted to test the air quality in mine & my toddler’s bedroom. TheAC in my room has had mold in the past & we scrubbed it out, but I wanted to make sure itdidn’t come back. All I did was open a dish & leave it in the closed rooms for about 2 hours.I then set it in a drawer, in a dark & warm spot as instructed. I continued to watch forgrowth. The image above is after 3 days. The guide that comes with the kits let me knowthat this type of growth is just due to dust & is common. It was cool to watch the growth inthe dish over a few days. Interesting for kids too. It definitely had some sort of growth, so itabsolutely works. Nice amount of dishes for the price. Can test multiple areas. 10/10
