We recently moved back into our house that we have rented out for the last 15 years. The shower has had this leak from the handle that is pure hot water. I got tired of burning myself so I figure I would replace the old Shower handle. Behind this is the cartridge. The cartridge is usually the issue with a leak or inconsistent temperature. I was prepared for this and bought a new cartridge and the remover tool. I had no idea what I was getting into. I think the shower cartridge was the original one that came with the house. It was so corroded and stuck, it took me hours to chisel the pieces out. Once that part was done the install was easy and the new faucet looks amazing and it was a great price.Make sure you know what type of valve you have behind the wall. Not all The valve that this ties into is specific to the brand. Not all handles will work with all valves. Also, make sure to change that cartridge before it becomes a real problem.

I didn't bother reading the downloadable instructions, the installation was pretty much self explanatory. I just removed the old parts and replaced them with the new parts. My only suggestion is to avoid spraying it with bleach or anything that will eat the coated metal. That's the main reason why I had to replace the old one.

Just like their other products I’ve used, the finish and quality is nice. Install was quick and easy. Nice look and feel. Got it for a great deal on Amazon too. Only gripe is the size of the set screw for the handle. It’s an allen screw, which is fine, but the size is 7/64 or something. I have all of these allen wrench sets, allen screw bits for my drill, etc, but I don’t have that size. Seems like I have every standard and metric size around that size, but not the one that actually fits. How about just including the wrench Delta? Or use a size that’s common to most allen wrench sets? My one gripe. Hope they listen.

needed to replace old handle. Moen, like everyone else, has redesigned and eliminated the sold metal attachment piece and replaced it with plastic. Works fine, easy to install but there is a bit more perceptible wiggle that there was with the metal partsMake sure you get the right parts. There are 2 or 3 different design valves over the years. This is for the Posi-Temp valve which is for rotate temperature adjustment only. There is no flow control.Selling trim and valves separately is convenient if you need replacement parts, but expensive.

easy to install. looks ok. for sure if the cartridge and valve underneath stick out fr the wall the handle wont be flush in. but thats not the fault of the trim, it has to do with the position of the valve and cartridge underneath.

I thought... I'm an amazing DIY guy, these reviews must be people who messed it all up. This isn't going to happen to me. So I follow the installation instructions, calculated the valve mounting depth perfect, and ended up with a terrible looking install and a protruding handle. But it is correctable if you're looking to double the scope of work.So the first major mark against this product is there should be an inner collar that covers the assembly if the handle sticks out too far off the plate. Moen makes one but it's a dull metal, not chrome, and it DOES NOT come with the kit.The second flaw is that to get a proper flush mount, you need to mount valve to be about 1/4 to 3/8" below your final tile face. Do not mount your valve (black plastic reference guide) to be flush with the tile or the handle like it says to. That will cause it to stick out with a gaping hole for water to get into your control wall.As far as ease of installation it's super easy if you're okay with it looking bad. But to make it look good you should include the extra effort required. Which for me was cutting an access panel in the wall behind our shower. Taking a sawz-all to the back of the blocking that the valve is mounted to. Then carefully cut the nails out that secure the blocking. Then pulling the blocking back to get it to the right depth and screwing it into place. Luckily there was enough play in the pipes. Then replacing the acccess panel, patching the drywall and retexturing the wall. And of course finally painting the patch, luckily we had just redone the toilet room where I cut the panel and had extra paint. That part is not in the instructions, but might as well be because it seems like everyone will have to fix this install! So I've posted a photo of the recessed valve that lead to a perfect installation. I went through this nightmare because my wife really liked the look of this trim kit And we couldn't find one that we liked better so had to make this one work. And well you know... happy wife, happy life!

I needed to upgrade one of my cheapy plastic Moen positemp handles because it literally broke from use twice in a span of 6 months. I understand Moen is supposed to provide a lifetime-warranty with their products, but I was sick and tired of their trash plastic handle. Unfortunately, once you are in the ecosystem for one of these manufacturers, moving onto a new handle is not an easy nor economic proposition. So even though I wanted to leave Moen, I ended up giving the metal positemp handle a shot. I'm glad I did.The build quality is night-and-day. Everything from the face plate to the entire handle itself is made from metal. Most importantly, the physics of the device is totally different from the plastic knob as the long handle provides for a longer lever arm and less force required to maintain torque (T = F * d). End result is that there is less strain on you and less strain on the device, so less chance of device failure (Yes, that includes the internal $80 positemp valve). It's as simple as that.Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised and ended up buying three more to replace all the shower/tub handles in the house. If you have one of those absolute trash plastic Moen handles, don't hesitate. I know other reviewers have complained about the handle being some distance from the face plate and being able to see the screw heads, but this was not a big deal for me. Purely personal preference and I'm sure they'd have a different perspective if they were upgrading from the plastic trash. Also, give Amazon warehouse a shot. I had good luck with two of my handles and although the packaging was haphazard, the devices were fantastic.
