About this item

  • Create Precise Miter Joint: Turn the lever with ergonomic large knob to make inside cam rotate. The rotating cam pushes the bar out, through which four sharp teeth are evenly threaded. The four hardened teeth easily penetrate the wood for firm grip and bars put very high pressure all across the miter joint for a precise glue joint
  • Rugged & Reliable: Heavy duty chrome plated carbon steel and aluminum alloy construction allow for years of usage with no rust or wear. Hardened sharp steel teeth will not get dull or broken after repeated usage
  • Wide Compatibility: Greatly streamline and improve the process of making window casing, door casing, picture frames, cabinet trim, and so on
  • Ease Of Usage: First apply some glue to the joint. Then rotate the lever one half turn to let pins dig into wood and squeeze miter joint together tightly. Let glue dry for a while. Then rotate the lever one half turn in either direction to release the miter clamp. A perfect miter joint right at your fingertips
  • Friendly Reminder: 4 small indentations are inevitably left on sides of trim. You may need to fill holes yourself

These solve the problem of getting a tight miter joint on a frame. I bought two because they are expensive but actually I think they work better just doing two corners at a time, the joints aren’t fighting one another. These are very well constructed and should last a lifetime. Be aware that the teeth do leave small holes on the side of the frame, you can’t see them unless you are very close.

First off, this is well made. And it should for the money they are asking for it. After a couple of uses, my estimation is that this will last a very long time. It is solid and gets the job done.On the down side, if you use it to assemble something like a picture frame, you are going to end up with 32 holes to fill. They're small, so easily taken care of, but unless you have some filler that matches your project really well, you will only use this one projects to be painted or veneered.I only have one of these. Unless you have a lot of time to spend on the glue up process, you will want two or four of them. That's gonna run you a some bucks. There is a learning curve in using it. My first try with some scrap wood did not produce a perfect joint. My second try came out with the pieces flush and with no gaps. I think once I have used it about a dozen times, I will understand exactly how to position the two sides of the clamp in order to get a good joint. To use it: When in the open position, the sides of the clamp are at about 100 degrees. I got it to work well by laying the two pieces on a flat work space and aligning on piece parallel to the tips of the prongs on a side of the clamp. Align the two pieces of your project at ninety degrees and with the joint closed. The other side of your project will only touch one of the prongs. Then, crank the handle until the clamp is making sufficient pressure on the joint to keep it in place. In my test runs with fir, the prongs did not embed all the way into the fir, but it held the join securely in the proper position.

This clamp was a unique design to me and I looked forward to using it on several occasions. First thing you should know is this clamp will leave small holes in your finish product so it’s only really good for paint grade trim and it will be another spackle punch list item. Tried this on a few paint grade baseboards with success but I needed to apply the clamp more than once due to user error which buggered up the boards move than I would have liked. I suggest trying on a few test boards before starting a finish project. Where you place the inside pivot point make a lot of difference on how effective your clamp joints come together cleanly. On narrow 3/4” or 1x nominal casing these work well on bringing the joints together cleanly but don’t leave a whole lot of space to nail. It can be done. I only got 1 clamp and if I had gotten 2 I think I would use these more for casing, especially the ones that give you a little trouble on uneven walls.Clamp strength is fantastic and the sliding handle with knob give you plenty of leverage with zero interference with clamped materials. There is a full lock position this clamp reaches that you will feel. This holds your clamp and work in place under maximum pressure without the concern of it loosening or falling off.Having only one clamp and limit use case scenario for a few months I finally found a use case that I really like and that is deck railing. This clamp works great on 2x material especially where level 5 finish is not required. I was asked to repair a lot of gaping corner 45’s and found this clamp to be perfectly suited to glue up joints and bring them together tightly before screwing off. I’m the past o I’ve tagged these joints with a 2 1/2” 15 gauge nail before screwing off and these hold but not as tightly as these clamps. Looking forward to using on future new construction handrails for a perfect connection. I think if you have use case scenarios that this clamp would speed up or improve productivity - this clamp is worth the investment as it’s manufactured very well and does what it claims to do. This clamp is easy to use and very instinctive after the first use. Again I recommend getting acquainted on a scrap piece first. I intend to double up and pick up an additional clamp in the future to always have a pair handy. 4 solid starsMy grading scaleMy ratings are based on one or more of the following characteristics. Great product that allows you to join 45 degree corners easily. I am using the product to fix all of the baseboard misalignment that my flooring contractor left behind.
