First, inventory all part before starting. A few reviews indicated missing parts and that was also the case for the item I received. The 3V3 voltage regulator IC was absent. However, it was the only thing and I had a few spare, so it wasn't a deal breaker. They really need to do a 2 step quantity control before shipping. That said, it was a fun project. Build quality was good and the laser cut case fit accurately.Functionality, it is fairly accurate in output PWM, continuity and input voltage reading. Didn't test the PWM or current input.

The package came with missing acrylic plates and all the mounting screws and pillars. The electronic parts are all present.

I only have one thing I don’t particularly care for regarding this item, namely that the amperage and voltage both have different inputs, but the item only comes with one pair of positive/negative gator clips w/ red/black cable, so to measure both amps and volts, you’ll have to test one while the leads are fastened down in the input jacks, then unscrew said input jack (positive) and move it to the remaining input jack to test the other, which will bot get old very quickly, and also put unnecessary strain on the cable leads. Fortunately the negative lead can stay put during this process since volts/amps both share the same negative input. The rest is fine in my unimportant opinion. Normally I’d score it a 4 or 5. However, I scored it a three due to the fact it was missing several pieces that were shown in the ad as well as on the itemized list of what should have been included with my purchase. Namely; the acrylic case pieces X6, the screws for the case X8, the stand-offs X4 and the screws for the stand-offs. I’ve yet to see any response regarding this from the customer service message I sent two days ago and can’t really send it back as I already began assembling it prior to realizing what was missing. I’ll accept that I should’ve inventoried it first, but I’m currently lacking enough flat surface space to do such an inventory without risking losing something, which lead me to just putting it together right out of the box.

I bought this kit as a practice kit for soldering, as well for having a multimeter that I made myself for the fun of it. It is ideal for the later portions of Starter Skill Set or the beginning of the Intermediate Skill Set. I always solder the chips first, and then the resistors, and finally follow the instructions. It was in Steps 23 & 24 that I noticed a serious error if you are not being careful. Step 23 calls for installing 3x (three) S8050 Transistors. Step 24 incorrectly calls for installing 1x (one) S8050 Transistor. This is INCORRECT! The correct Transistor to install is S8550. The other fault for the kit that I received is the power switch. The pictures and instructions have a power switch that is on the left side. The switch that I received is faced upward, I left it in the On Position when I put the outer casing together. It is not a huge deal for me, but has to be noted.Things I liked:Not difficult to put together and solder. It has Power Output to test small devices. The appearance is colorful and looks neat.Things I did not like:The Power Switch pointing up rather than to the side. Wrongly labeling the Transistor in Step 24. The included power cable is only 20 inches long roughly.

I bought this kit because I wanted to learn how to solder. This was my first project. I really enjoyed completing this kit. All the parts were there and they included extra parts for the smaller components and resistors. The online instructions have good pictures and are easy to follow. It took me about three hours to complete with breaks. I kind of just worked on it as I could find the time throughout one day. Before I purchased the kit I read reviews by other people. I noticed a few people mentionedscrew holes not lining up for the case so I started all the screws before I fully tightened any of them. I didn't have any problems and displays lit up when I powered it. I will update my review as I use it more

Great practice with different types of components. Be patient, and follow the instructions. Parts are small and needs a good magnifier to view markings, but very nicely done and well documented.Personally, I found it better to use a 1.6 mm chisel tip for soldering , and .3mm solder.Great product
