Good finish and one coat seems to be all you need. The value was really good compared to big box stores. Goes on well smooth texture time will tell on the strength of the coating. Negative is if you get it to thick it turns white.

Applied to factory sanded face grade “A” plywood after vacuuming and wiping down with a damp cloth.I noticed that going against the grain the cloth drug a bit on fibers not visible. Coat one was dry to the touch in less than 2 hours but had a slightly bumpy surface. Next day I hand sanded lightly with 240 grit, vacuumed and damp clothed the surface. After inspecting for any remaining rough spots the last coat wasApplied with a smooth gloss result. I will use this product again.

Minwax poly varnish goes on smoothly and cleans up easily. I'm sold on latex varnish.

I was given some 20 year old, rough cut cedar to replace the drop ceiling in my basement. After plaining, edging, routing, and sanding it, I didn't want to have to put three coats of polyurethane on about 300 boards and then sand between coats. So, I gave this a try. I was pleasantly surprised. One coat was sufficient for what I was doing. Don't think I'd use it on a nice piece of furniture, but for what I needed, it was ideal.

It's very thick in the can. And difficult to get an even coat. And you have to be careful with drips. Ultimately, I think standard polyurethane gives better results even if you have to use more coats.

The product is really good for my art work but I think it is quite expensive for the amount you get. I will run out of it quite quickly. Otherwise, as a product, I would recommend it.
