I wanted to like this compact little scanner. But it did not deliver. Pros: the trays are great: the slides drop neatly into the 4 different compartments, the negatives are neatly held in place with little notches, and the trays close with a neat magnetic clip. The mirror and flip options are great when you have no idea which way the films should be viewed - faster than using your computer photo editor app.The cons: 1- Despite the neat trays that hold both slides and negatives very well, and perfectly centered on the slides, the images captured were cropped a fair amount with no way to adjust. For the negatives, I thought 2-The color distortion is heavy toward the reds, as shown on attached pictures (the more realistic color pictures were taken with a different scanner and almost identical to actual slides). 3-Once in HDMI mode, the device driver is supposed to download on the computer, allowing you to view the pictures. I tried many different ways but the device, powered on and in connect mode, was never recognized by my computer. Without an HDMI slot on my computer, I had to put the HDMI card into my Canon camera. A real pain… 4-The slideshow feature did not work. It let me view the last picture, but when I went back, it gave me a weird green screen and froze the scanner. It was not responding to any of the commands, and I had to power it off and on again. 5-Resolution even at max 10M is poor.A good idea but with poor execution. Will be returned.
