I purchased this exact ball about 3 yrs ago and it was great, glowed very good at night and lasted long considering it was in the elements 24/7. I bought this to replace the worn out one and it looks the same but doesn't glow. I feel like it's just the crappy products we have to put up with in this day and age. Nothing lasts ,nothing does what it claims.

We made our pole with chain link fencing pole and a small old tire with concrete poured. The ball is great and reminds me of the high quality of days gone by. The posting the ball is metal so I added a carabineer to the rope so we can easily bring our ball in and out. I wouldn't recommend the carabineer for small children they could easily become injured when striking the ball. We made a second one for the younger children using an old umbrella holder and PVC. We have also used and old Fan stand. Great ball would highly recommend.

Have only used it one summer but so far so good! Haven't really took advantage of the glow in the dark feature as it's only been used during the day so can't really comment on that. The ball itself has help up well so far and it's fun to play with.

Bought as a replacement for our tetherball which we forgot outside over winter. The kids LOVE this one way more as the ball is a little more padded. It came inflated, which I thought was odd but I appreciated! It freaked the neighbors out one evening when they saw this glowing orb in our backyard moving around...quickly explained the next morning that it was our tetherball blowing in the wind.

Loved the ball. My kids played for hours. It does not glow like the description states. The black bears played with it and popped it.

It does glow in the dark but you have to expose it to sunlight. We bought this ball to go with our new BSN tetherball pole because we thought it would be nice for night games. We are really happy with it for several reasons. When I opened the box I took it straight into a dark room and it did not glow at all. After several days in the house i checked again and it still did not glow at all. After we attached it to the pole and it was outside for the day we took it inside and it glowed well. It is not extremely bright but it definately should help at night. We also like the ball because it is slicker than the one that came with our pole. The one that came with the pole has a tackiness to it that will catch fingernail tips a lot sooner than the mikasa ball. It also seems to be well made and looks like it will last for years. The only negative I can find is that it is harder than the BSN ball so if you are looking for a softer ball, this one may not work well for you.

Doesn't glow hardly at all, you really have to look. Ball is decent though. Have had ball and rope about a year now, constantly outside in desert area so getting a lot of sun. The ball could probably go another year, the rope is almost done. No clip came with it. Rope is very long, we have a very tall pole and still had to trim it some. Ball is good enough that I'd buy again if at a good price, even without the glow.

After only a year of outdoor use, our old tetherball broke right at the point where the "tether" meets the "ball". Well, we can't have a tether without a ball, that makes playing the game quite difficult...especially in a breeze. My wife gave me the assignment of getting another ball, assuming correctly that with my tetherball skills matching that of Napolean Dynamite, I was the man for the job.I bought this glow in the dark version because it seemed like a no brainer. I can play at night as well! Awesome! However, the tether itself is not made of phosphorescent material which makes trying to track the ball at night like trying to follow a glow in the dark wiffle ball thrown by Nolan Ryan. Yeah...like that. Once I got pegged in the face one too many times, I was surprised to find that this ball multiplies faster than quibbles on the starship enterprise. All of a sudden, we went from one ball to five! Just like that!The material of the ball is fantastic to strike, but does hurt when connecting with your face at a high degree of velocity. If you are a cheater and do "ropies" by grabbing the rope, that won't matter at all...but the tether will give you a nice rope burn...and it serves you right for trying to cheat. Freak!Love how the tether connects to the ball, solid construction. Yes, strangely, the sun actually does not help the ball glow...hopefully you have a 12 foot flourescent bulb you can bring outside and wave around awhile.Don't get this because it glows in the dark, do get this because it is a solid tetherball. Don't pay more for the glow part...my wife is still giving me crap about how I am so easily swayed by bright shiny things...
