Can't justify 5 stars since I've no way to know if this actually works. My only complaint with this unit is that it is too easy to trun on when handling it in it's case. I've done this nearly every time I go to put it away. I'm sure it has an auto-off feature, but it's just a bit annoying to hear it beep up when I'm stowing it or moving it.

Great tool for the money. Found that my hearing aide emitted more micro waves than my oven.

.Handy little device that has the quality expected for a modern test device. The LCD screen is very easy to read.It takes a 9 volt battery. These days I would expect its own on board power that is chargeable via a USB port. However, that would add greatly to the price of the unit.Overall success. It's handy to use checking microwaves.

I was surprised this microwave leak detector worked at this price point. I have a standard-sized microwave that was damaged when it fell off a cart in the garage. It will go to appliance recycling when they reopen in January. I ordered this detector to check if when plugged in it leaked radiation. First I tried it on the microwave on my kitchen counter and nothing, but it is my understanding that all microwaves have some small amount of radiation leakage. Then I ran a heavy-duty extension cord to the broken one outside under the tent in a pile of stuff going to the recycling center. It registered 6.0 mW/cm² which is a very high leakage. I am giving this to the kids and having them check things around the house that can leak radiation. It is a good experiment for them.
