Our fluorescent Water Tracing Dye offers maximum visibility for leak tracing, overflow analysis, discharge testing, dispersion and diffusion pattern analysis, time-flow studies and sea marking. The highly concentrated dye can be traced even more precisely under ultraviolet light or measured with a fluorometer. While highly visible, Green Gobbler dye is non-polluting and won't harm wildlife You also don't have to worry about staining; our dye washes out of virtually any surface or fabric.

Works great! Note that if you're buying this for a hobby such as turning 50 gallons of water epic green, then you only need a tiny bit of this. With a gallon you could turn a good sized pond green.

Worked as it should. I only needed to locate where my gutters exited in the backyard. You only need to use a cup or so for something like that.

Closed hydronic heat/cool system... easy to distinguish a water leak vs condensation. Great product... just needs to be available in smaller quantity... like a quart size. I only used one cup and now have TOO much left over... a waste.

The product worked great to track water in our yard and trace back to the pool where we ultimately determined that our skimmer and return line was not properly sealed. Pretty disappointed that this company doesn’t provide good feedback as far as removing from the pool. When I spoke to the manufacturer directly they said it could take a month to filter out, and the best and quickest solution was to dilute by doing a partial drain of the pool which would have been super costly. After speaking with our pool person, they threw 2lbs of shock (powder chlorine) and it cleared the pool within a few hours. This is marketed as a pool leak detection for pools, so the marketing and manufacturer should be providing appropriate information.

Was getting sewer water in crock and plumber couldn't figure out where it was coming from even with his camera so.... I go this.Easy to use? Yeppers, just put it in your drain and wait for it to show up in the crock.Value for the money? YES! I will have this stuff for a lifetime. I only used a cup of it and it still appears in my crock.Tip: Use a blacklight. Thank me later!

I used this product for an outdoor Halloween decoration, the vomiting Skelton and it worked fantastic. My spouse did use this to detect a leaking toilet flapper. It has multiple uses and works well.

The title is probably a bit misleading. I actually purchased this as part of a Halloween decoration I created. I did a DIY "vomiting" skeleton for Halloween. One of the DIY folks I followed on social media recommended this product along with a black light to really make the skeleton and his "vomit" stand out. I purchased this and began using it on October 1st. While it comes out of the bottle a reddish color, it will turn green and give a great fluorescent look. I allowed this water to pump for about two weeks before completely emptying the tank and refilling with water and this solution in time for the holiday. Not its intended purpose but works well in this scenario!

I bought this dye to literally trace water flow. I have an older house that has a concreted-in drain tile under the basement floor dating from the house's construction. I wanted to determine if water pumped into the drain would make its way into a newer drain and sump system that now carries water. I poured 1 pint (probably WAY overkill) of green dye into a hole drilled into the drain through the floor; and then shot a garden hose stream down the hole. After about 15 minutes we saw green swirls of dye in the sump pit, so HURRAY we had a connection. I saw green dyed water in the yard at the sump outlet for several days afterward. We found the dye does glow under UV when extremely dilute in water well before white light reveals the dye. This stuff is very strong/concentrated and I can believe that it works well in Halloween vomit projects. :) It seems strong enough to trace small streams and sewer leaks. A crude but effective tool.
