This is a great way to get my grandson interested in exploring his surroundings. With a microscope, camera and telescope, it's sure to peek his interests. The microscope has 5 levels of zoom and 5 levels of brightness. It has a rotating 90° screen. There's 6 colors of lighting. The material that it's made of is sturdy. This is a great way to get hom off the couch and outdoors. Well worth $40 bucks.

Impressed with this scope. It's removable from its base so it makes it easy to take outside and look at all kinds of things out in nature. Granted, it's not going to give you the clarity from a lensed scope, it's far easier to get things positioned to see them which is great for kids as they get a bit impatient. The screen is decently bright, but sunlight is going to make it difficult to get a good view of what you're looking at. It can take pictures and the interface is relatively easy to use. The base is sturdy and thick so it doesn't feel like it's going to break easy. The magnetic specimen clips are a pretty neat idea if they haven't copied it from someone else. Definitely makes it feel less fragile.Navigating the interface is a bit of a chore at first, but if you walk through it, you understand it pretty easy and can teach a small one how to use it relatively quickly. Be careful not to change languages if english is your first language, otherwise you might have a bit of time getting back to the correct language.

This adorable microscope set turned out to be the perfect gift for my niece, who loves getting her hands dirty and bringing back plants and little bug friends whenever she visits. Now, she’ll be able to examine her discoveries up close with this toy microscope!I took the time to set it up and review all the components, and while my niece hasn’t had the chance to use it yet, everything seems to work as intended. I’m confident it will provide endless entertainment and spark her curiosity about the natural world. Highly recommended for young explorers!

I opened this up and used it a little bit before I gift it to my son for Christmas. It seems really intuitive. At one point I screwed up the language, but I was able to get it back to English pretty easily. I think my eight-year-old is going to love this!

The microscope is a Christmas gift for my Niece, and my grand daughter. They each have one. I’m hoping that it will stir up some inquisitiveness in the children.

There is a lot to like about this product but there are also a number of matters of concern as well.First, it does work quite well as a microscope and the built in camera is pretty nice and fairly easy to use, It's obviously not lab quality equipment but it's not meant to be. It's meant as a teaching tool for your budding scientists. Nice touches are the magnetic clips for securing your specimen slide to the base. The scope/camera/display unit has a built in rechargeable battery which you charge with the included USB cable, which you can also use to connect this to a computer. The base requires 3 AA batteries for the backlight and sound. What I do not like about this is the instructions are horrible. When I first turned it on, all the text on the screen was in Chinese. The instructions were of no help in figuring out how to enter the setup mode or how to navigate the menus. Once I figured that out and was able to change the language to English, the next step was figuring how to set the date and time, which wasn't particularly intuitive. The time is in 24 hour format (ex. 4:00 pm displays as 16:00) and there is no apparent way to change that. Also the listing indicates there is an included SD card but there is NO SD card slot. In setup mode there is an SD card icon and you have the option to format it. So there is INTERNAL memory and maybe if you remove the back cover of the display, you may or may not find an SD card in a slot there but you probably void the warranty if you do open it.So there is a fair amount to like about this product but I'm not sure I could really recommend it
