I'm a biology teacher who has worked with microscopes over 30 years. I bought this one to get pictures on my phone of cell slides. First, there is NO fine focus. Optics are fuzzy at best. Highest power lens is too long to focus on most standard prepared slides. This one is an absolute waste of money.

Very good and the adaption of the phone camera is a real nice feature. This was a gift for my sister to use with her grandchildren. I sent a butterfly growing kit that was a BIG hit. This now has ignited a curiosity for the world in the children and revived the child within the adults for the wonder that are world often forgets.

The 40x lense does not work at all and the box is missing parts like phone holder etc. I will be returning this

This a very good microscope. Love the ruler and it has knobs to move stage up and down,side to side, you don't have to touch the slide. I got it to check goat parasites/worm. It's good for lots of other things.

I purchased this microscope because of themany outstanding features that it contained. At the top of my list, was themoveable ruler that allows for easy andprecise slide positioning. To my dismay, thisunit did not include a fine focus knob, butI decided to buy it anyway.Aporoximately 1 week after I received the microscope, I saw that Amazon now carriedadditionally the identical Maxlapter scopethat included my desired fine focus control,but not the moveable ruler. What kind ofabsurd insanity is that! Why can't someonelike me have their cake, and eat it? I guessthat if I was forced to choose between thetwo, however, I'd pick the moveable ruler.Having said all that, I must say that I enjoyusing this microscope. I think the opticalquality, value and appearence are all verygood. The scope's size is fine too. It's largeenough to look serious, but nowhere nearthe scale of a laboratory behemoth! It willcomplement a home desk or shelf, andcomes with a dust cover.This unit isn't a professional, laboratory orcollege grade instrument, nor does it pretend to be. It's just a good all aroundmicroscope for any home enthusiast, orsupplemental home aid for primary and secondary biology and science students.I believe this microscope actually deservesat least four and one half stars, making asmall deduction for no fine focus. However,since the individual rating granularity is inwhole stars, I was forced to make it four.

If your are looking for a beginner microscope; spend a little more and get this one. I did a lot of research before buying this microscope, and I’m so glad I did. I am not sure of any other microscope, in this price range, that offers 2000x. It’s quality too; the lenses are excellent. There is a light above and below the slide.I have not mastered the cell phone holder yet, but that wouldn’t stop me from giving anything less then a 5 Star review.

It is high quality microscop for juniors which would be fantastic if had been paid more attentions during its design and manufacturing for example mobile adaptor neck is loose around the eye lens tube and I put in a piece of folded tissue to fill it ,or the gap between horizontal sliders and Lab slide base is wide and some time Lab slide gets stuck there, any way my son like it.
