For a very inexpensive darkfield condenser this work well with good edge illumination. The centering knobs balance the illumination smoothly. So far it seems to work best in the 100X to 600X range. There is some flare at 40X but that may be my set-up. Since this is dry (intentionally) I can't try it at 1000X. If you have an old Bausch&Lomb microscope, while they are both 37mm, B&L means the condenser mount is 37mm and AmScope (and I suspect all modern scopes) means the condenser is 37mm and some fitting will be necessary (but presumably not with a new scope).

Ok I i make my own darkfield filters and get great results so I really hoping that 100 dollar darkfield would be amazing.Well a couple of things. First you need to turn you light all the way up. If you are are just viewing 10x-20x is fine. But if you want to film using a camera rig with dslr. This is a no go why? Normally my setting aperture 100 iso 200-400 with this darkfield all you get is a black screen I have to bump it up to 6400 which then is grainy.I would have thought this would have a type of iris to make this darkfield brighter or darker. So for just viewing it’s ok for pro camera setup does not work at all.If you want to know what the 2 silver kob stick are...they are for adjusting just the center.

It is a good condenser for most uses. Very solid, does not disappoint. But as I have used it more and more, I wish I had purchased the one sold by AmScope directly with an iris. hace falta.I don't regret purchasing it, but it will be my backup and not my primary use condenser.

Used for viewing live and unstained slides ..it takes the light from the. Bottom where u are looking at specium with the light going thru .Redirects the light not thru , but from the sides at vairing angles . A must for highly transparent objects.
