We got this microscope for my kids to learn about the micro universe under our finger nails... (yuck!) We started with the slides that came with it. We were able to get the 4x and 10x lenses to work pretty well! The 40x lens was very hard to see through, we saw strange dots that moved when the lens was moved. We put in squished ant in slide in the microscope and hooked on the camera attachment... It took me about 5-10 minutes to get a good image of the squished ant. Good luck.Over-all, it's a good microscope, but I'd stick to the lower magnification. Good for kids, if you're looking to do serious work, look elsewhere!

This works great and love that it comes with slides and extra magnifiers. The light is bright and works well. The scope itself is made well and the kids love it! It just works well. A Great Value!

I ordered the Microscope for Adults Professional: Compound Microscope for Kids 8-12, 100X-2000X Microscope Kit to use with our Sea Scout group during beach camping trips. The goal was to help the kids examine samples of seawater and other items they find on the beach. This microscope has been a solid tool for introducing them to the microscopic world, and itβs encouraged plenty of curiosity and discussion. The microscope comes with everything needed to get started: prepared slides, blank slides, covers, and tweezers. Having these included is convenient and saves time. The range of magnifications, from 100X to 2000X, is versatile. For seawater samples, the lower magnifications work well for observing small creatures like copepods or paramecia, while the higher magnifications are useful for looking at cell structures or grains of sand. The optics are good enough for detailed observations, though the clarity diminishes slightly at the highest magnifications. This isnβt unexpected for this type of microscope, but it still provides plenty of detail for identifying whatβs on the slides. The kids were particularly interested in seeing tiny sea creatures moving under the lens and had fun identifying them. The microscope is lightweight but feels sturdy enough to handle frequent use. The LED light is adjustable, which makes it easier to view darker samples or use it in less-than-ideal lighting. The dual focusing knobs work smoothly and allow for fairly precise adjustments, which made it manageable for the kids to operate. The kit includes a few prepared slides, which were helpful for showing the kids how to use the microscope before moving on to their seawater samples. The blank slides and covers allowed them to prepare their own samples, adding another layer to the learning process. On the downside, the instruction manual is not very detailed, so it took some time to figure out the best way to use and adjust the microscope. Also, the fine focus knob could be a little more sensitive at higher magnifications.

I am not a scientist, but I do have need for occasional strong magnification, and I finally decided I needed something more than basic magnifying lenses for certain projects. This unit has really impressed... it's solidly built, includes an array of accessories, provides a good backlight for viewing, and even comes with a handful of prepared slides, just to show you what it can really do. For educational or general use this is an excellent option, and I'm quite happy with this acquisition.

I received this microscope through the Amazon Vine program for my 10-year-old son, hoping it would be an excellent learning tool based on its description and promises. While there are some positive aspects, I ultimately found it disappointing, given the price point.Positives:*The microscope is constructed of metal, giving it a solid and durable feel.*It includes multiple illumination options, a fine rack-and-pinion mechanism for adjusting the specimen table, and interchangeable aluminum lenses.*The kit comes with prepared glass slides featuring interesting specimens and a well-written manual.Negatives:*The microscope is much smaller than expected, feeling more like a child's discovery toy than the "Professional Microscope for Adults" described on the product page.*The LED illumination is underpowered, which makes viewing specimens less effective.*The magnification lenses lack clarity and sharpness, reducing the overall quality of observations. At $129, the price is not justified for what is offered. For a lower price, around $60, this would have been an excellent deal, but at its current cost, it falls short. While it has some good qualities, the microscope doesn't deliver the value expected at its listed price.

This microscope is awesome π. I wish I can discover this great product much earlier. It comes with all the necessary accessories and a couple of useful sample specimens to help us to get started. The cell holder is also a good feature as well. Clarity is great surprise with high magnification power. We really enjoy this product with no regret. X. L.

Surprisingly feature rich at this price point. Includes a slide preparation kit, a 2x additonal magnifying lens, transmitted and reflected lighting, a holder clip for attaching cell phones. The manual is not bad. Mine mentions apertures for the transnitted light, but my microcope just has color filters there. Quality is pretty good. This is definetly a step up from a toy.
