The first time I used one of these style hitches was on a rental trailer and I've wanted to convert my trailers over ever since. It's so much easier to close the latch and it's very obvious when it's not connected properly, and feels much more secure. This is a budget level version of the name brand version and offers a much cheaper option which is nice. Unfortunately, as a very bad hobbyist welder I look at some of the welds and think I could do better, which isn't a good thing since I'm not very good. Will the welds hold? Hard to say, but probably...still, I'd be hesitant to test this on a trailer near the full load limit this claims to be rated for. But since I'm using it on a trailer about half that I feel ok with it, but will still keep an eye on the welds. The finish is also a little sloppy, but that concerns me hardly at all since I'm grinding a lot of it off and welding it on my trailer and will be painting it after anyways. So overall, this is a great option for a budget sleeve latch style hitch. It's not the prettiest and it may be optimistic to say it's a 7k hitch, but for the price it's offered ($65) it's a great value.

It looks like a decent hitch, not great but useable .All of the welds look solid even though they are a bit ugly ( sometimes the ugly welds are the strong ones)If you are looking for a substitute for a Bull dog hitch, this is not it !A bull dog has a longer tang on the ball clasp, and the latching mechanism is better. The ball socket looks a bit rough, and I think it looks more like cast iron than forged steel.I intend to use this on a light trailer with 2k capacity so it's way over rated. If I were building an actual 7k trailer, I would spend the money for a real bull dog.I Hope My Review And Pictures Were Helpful To You !!

This trailer coupler comes with a safety pin that helps prevent the ball from coming off and greatly increases the safety of the trailer. In terms of price, this style is among the least expensive on the market and offers the best performance.
