My 11 year old joined band this year, and this was a great option for him. The case isn’t flimsy either, it withstands daily bus rides from school home. Would recommend super slick slide cream to go with. He’s doing great on this instrument. Very happy to find an affordable option for him. Purchased July 12, 2023.Update 11/13/2024.Still believe this is a great affordable option for those starting out. It isn’t as strong as other materials, tends to get dinged up with use by my middle school aged child. However it was a great starter option without breaking the bank. Oh and the case-I had to repair a handle this week from use, thread separated from the main case. Still holding up for now though.Definitely recommend purchasing a cleaning kit/slide cream as well.

My son started with an Etude in 4th grade which broke end of 5th grade and now is unplayable. Now that he is in 7th grade and also in jazz band we wanted to upgrade because he was playing a near impossible to play instrument and he is an above average player for his age and is very passionate about music. We could not afford a rental for years and decided to try another Trombone from Amazon. It only is a little higher priced than the Etude and came with a tuner, oil, white gloves, and cleansing cloth. It also has a soft case. The Etude had a hard case that was bulky and hard to lug around. We just unboxed the Mendini and so far the sound quality is exquisite. It is a beautiful instrument and sea to be excellent quality especially in this price range! My son was so impressed he said mom you need to give them a good review now lol. Thank you for providing an affordable instrument for kids like mine who are very passionate about music, so that they can play to their full potential.

Ok, writing a review now finally after my son has used this trombone after 5 months of 6th grade. Unlike the flute my daughter used, that we decided (wisely) to rent, I decided that a trombone has so few moving parts that we should go for buying a low end one. We definitely made the right call. This is a really nice, completely usable trombone beginners trombone. The band teacher hasn't given him any grief, and it works great. My son isn't going to be Fred Wesley, but the trombone isn't to blame. lol. The case is great too. And he's been unable to dent it or beat it up yet. I completely recommend it if you have a kid who is a maybe about their instrument. The cost is less than a year's rental, and the quality is more than adequate for a new student.

Amazing quality for the price. So glad I found this here on Amazon. We bought ours from KK Music Store. Came well packaged, and arrived in 8 days. (We did not do a rush) Trombone has great sound and looks to be of very good construction for a student trombone. I realize that this price point is supposed to be lesser made than the true professional trombones (and a bit smaller of course), but it really sounds and looks fantastic. Much better than I expected actually. The brass finish is pristine, and has silver accents. This is really a great horn at a very good price.The case was a great surprise, not hanging strings or cheesy zippers, it has rubber feet on the long side and the larger horn end (so it stands solid & won't topple over on its own). The case is made of very heavy canvas with double zippers, and extra snap enclosure to cover zippers when closed under the carry handle. Actually it has several handles to carry in different ways. the inside is custom fit for the horn with 2 protected door compartments for extra gadgets, and one larger rectangle zipper on the outside for music. The lining I expected to be a very inexpensive lining, but it is really very nice, thicker well made velvet like material. The 2 pcs. of the horn are in thin protective dust covers, and the overall presentation is quite lovely and everything seems of great quality.If you are looking for a young student, do not hesitate, this is the one for you! So pleased I did not buy a used one. Do look here on Amazon and buy the bow protector as well, it fits this unit perfectly & will protect the end that I'm sure the kids will rest on the floor while waiting for there part to play.
